“Poor Experience....!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2013

I came here the Other day with a couple of friends, We all had something off the menu my friend had a tuna sandwich and their was hardly any filling the salad/garnish was well pointless being on the plate and myself and my other friend had the cheese and beans jacket potato the jacket wasnt cooked through and their was no cheese - if there was couldnt see or taste it. I spoke to the young lad about it and all he said was well not alot not even a sorry.

The receptionist was rude aswell as staff that was working in the resturant. A young girl who was working on the bar was helpful in helping carry drinks and answering some questions.

I shall not be coming back again and im sure my friends wont be either.

The pub is in a nice part of the town just a shame it doesnt look inviting... needs a good clean if im honest... and a touch of paint!!

“Dirty rooms, staff have bad attitudes”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Stayed here with work. Payed £1000 for 5 rooms for fri-fri for 6 people. 1 room still hadn't been cleaned from previous occupant. Food was cold! Breakfast choices!! There is none! Full English or nothing! Staff were moody and had no interest. Only plus side was the attached pub good atmosphere

“what a shame”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

The New Inn is situated in amazing and historical building, so what a disappointment when we ate there. Almost empty, we were informed by the waitress that service finished at 8pm. The menu was uninspiring and short, so we opted for 2 simple dishes. The scampi was overcooked, the lasagna was dry and poorly presented, the chips over oven baked, and the salad garnish was a token of undressed lettuce and a couple of slices of tomato. The waitress delivered the food down without asking if we wanted any dressings, vinegar, etc. so we had to go and ask. At least the real ale was ok. Such a waste of potential in a place that deserves so much more care and attention to what diners are looking for and expecting today. I hope things improve .
