this is a beautiful large studio room from about 1650. wood plank and beam ceiling, ancient stone mullioned window that overlooks a carving from the 900's on the side of adjacent saxon era priory. also some niches in the plastered stone walls to accommodate tv and artwork. amenities of kitchenette and en suite bath make it possible to self cater.
while not historically correct in way modern additions have been done to the interior, the room as a space and overall location and ambiance are exceptional and I will return next time I have any reason to be in the area.
breakfast in a main room of the manor house overlooking farmlands.
farming family is also caretakers for the now parish church and odd's chapel. beautiful walking areas in adjacent lanes, open pastures, and along levee at river amid swans and ducks. amazingly affordable.
