We had a family lunch here and everyone liked it a lot. The place itself is quite big, but arranged to feel reasonably intimate, and it's very nicely decorated and furnished. The fixed price deal is really good value (£12 for 2 courses, £15 for 3). The food is above-average pub. Special praise went to the fishcakes, and to a mushroom, feta and red onion tart. There are modish touches (chips come in a little metal bucket, dishes come garnished with a few pea-shoots, the chopped parsley de nos jours). Service was slightly too laid back - but we arrived when most other lunchers were leaving so perhaps this was end-of-shift-itis. Including drinks and a tip the bill came to less than £20 a head. We'd definitely return.
