I normally only stay in hotels, both for business and for pleasure but with accommodation hard to find in Harrogate at peak times; we booked in for four days at The Fountains Guest House.
We couldn't have been more surprised or pleased with our decision.
Everything you'd hope for in a top class hotel but on a small and more personal scale. Lyndsay and her small staff take care of every need. Nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast, served at a time to suit (we were at the flower show and needed an early start) is very handy. Free wifi in the bedrooms is something Premier Inns would do well to emulate.
Parking can be a bit of a chore at busy times (especially with our Sprinter van) but free permits are available for on-road parking and there is also a small car park at the rear of the GH.
We had no hesitation in booking for the Harrogate Autumn show in September. As someone else commented . . a real little gem of a find.

Thanks

Stayed for three nights this week with my daughter. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Lyndsay, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless, with a welcome tray which was replenished on a daily basis, together with the quality toiletries in the shower room. Decor was of a very high standard generally. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of dishes. Very well situated and within easy walking distance of the town centre with its many attractions, restaurants and pubs. Couldn't recommend the Fountains highly enough!

This B&B is bigger than you think. Multiple floors and many rooms, all decorated and clean to the highest standards. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and staff. You are welcome to arrive early and if rooms are not ready then your luggage can be stored safely if you are out and about. The guesthouse is superbly located - less than a 10 minute walk to the town centre - convenient for the Turkish Baths and Betty's. The beds are very confortable with extra pillows available. I've stayed a few times now, and each time I have really enjoyed my stay and had a great night's sleep. The breakfast is by far the best thing - with a great deal of choice you cannot be disappointed. A very friendly and welcoming guesthouse with very reasonable prices. I would always use this guesthouse when in Harrogate.

Stayed only one night here ( sadly ) with my two daughters. Lovely family room, very comfortable and clean. Lyndsay was so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast delicious....no hesitation in recommending Fountains to anyone and will definitely stay here if we are lucky enough to visit Harrogate again.....first class.

My fiancé and I stayed for a weekend to celebrate my birthday, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we went through the front door, the whole place was very clean and well presented, decor to a high standard, we stayed in the double room on the ground floor, both Lyndsey and Jon were excellent hosts, being on hand if anything was needed, could not do enough for us. Breakfast was great they had many choices to choose from and it was all cooked perfectly. A very clean, chic place to stay with great hosts. The guest house itself was situated in walking distance to Harrogate town centre, and in easy reach to restaurants and pubs.

Will be returning again, would recommend this guest house to anyone who wants a affordable well presented place to stay.

Excellent !!!!

We stayed here for the Easter long weekend, and I would return to Harrogate, just to stay here again! The rooms were a great size, cosy and clean with all the little things included (spring water, wifi, tea/coffee, bathroom products, even Easter eggs on arrival). Lyndsay is fantastic, so friendly, informative and welcoming and it's nice that it's a family run place, has the small details of a high class hotel. The included breakfast was a choice of full English, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, or homemade porridge as well as toast/cereals etc and it was delicious! Restaurant quality and presentation. It was 5-10 min walk to the main part of Harrogate so really good location for going out and checking out the town. I can't speak highly enough of Fountains, and would recommend to anyone. I wish every place I stayed was like this!

Booked this guest house after reading reviews(we normally use the larger harrogate hotels) for a relaxing Easter break. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome and having booked a superior room were not disappointed. The room was spacious and clean and my wife loved the flowers and chocolates The breakfast and service were excellent. The Fountains is well located for the town centre and the owners have put together a superb information file which includes a very good restaurant guide. We had a lovely weekend and will definately be returning. Our thanks to all at the fountains for making our weekend very enjoyable
