“fantastic place, lovely people and made to feel very welcome”

We went for a romantic break to cold cotes, it was fantastic. We requested room 6 which was amazing with lovely decor and everything was so clean and well presented. There was fruit and chocolate in the room and on arrival penny came to the car to help with our luggage. The breakfast was lovely and lots of it. We were made to feel very welcome and would definatly go back and recomend to anyone looking for a peaceful romantic weekend away. It was everything I imagined and more. The hospitality was second to none

Room Tip: Room 6 amazing

Tea and cakes were on offer in the guest lounge in front of a lovely log fire as soon as we arrived. The room was very comfortable with plenty of space to store things. Lovely touches - proper milk in the fridge to make tea and coffee in the room, fruit and chocolates, wine glasses etc. Had a very relaxing stay, which is exactly what we'd gone for. Breakfasts are superb - with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. We've booked again for another trip next year.

On arrival we were offered tea and cakes in the welcoming lounge warmed by an open fire. We stayed in room 3 which has a large bedroom with very comfortable bed and seperate lounge with lots of nice touches: 'fridge, fresh fruit, sweets, cork screw and wine glasses, plates and cutlery, all of which enhance your stay. The bathroom has a bath with a shower spray attachment but no facility to have a stand up shower, for the 2 nights we stayed this wasn't a problem but if you prefer a walk in shower another room might be more suitable. The breakfast menu was excellent and everything we selected was delicious and beautifully presented. This is an excellent choice in a quiet and peaceful spot but with easy access to Harrogate and surrounding area.

You start to feel at home from the minute you arrive. Our room was in a barn extention and it was clean, modern, cosy, warm, quiet, well equipped etc.etc. If you had the same room in a very good hotel you would be delighted. The bed was large and very comfortable. Tea and cakes were available in the afternoon....but the breakfasts were superb. A wide choice, with everything locally sourced. The City was ten minutes away but we also headed North during our stay, and explored villages and lakes (walking) nearby. We had great meals in the Old Station and The Wellington. We will go back. Ask Ed to let you see his studio, he is a very good artist.

Room Tip: Room 5 was excellent in the barn.

Highly recommend this place. Very friendly, gave us tea and cake on arrival. Rooms lovely, equipped with everything you could ever want. The gardens to wander around are beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic, the best I've had.

We stayed at Cold Cotes either side of a week in Northumberland, it was our second /third visit and it was every bit as good as the first time. The welcome is always very warm, the breakfast really sets you up for the day and the beds are fantastic. We like it so much we have bought a gift voucher for the in-laws. It's a lovely base from which you can explore the Dales and I would highly recommend it, we will definitely go back.

Room Tip: We like room 6 which is very spacious and comfortable but there is not much natural light.

We spent 1 nights in Cold Cotes, and it was splendid. It was my first night in the English countryside, and I felt as if I was thrown into an 18th century British novel. Beautiful rooms, breathtaking gardens, 2 cute ponys, great breakfast, great hospitality - A unique experience!
