we were in Harrogate for a conference, and chose this hotel based on other reviews. The free car park was very handy as was the central location. The room itself whilst very clean was quite shabby and in need of a refurb. I noticed the curtains were torn as was the bedding. Thankfully, the full english breakfast made up for this next morning, it was buffet style with a good choice of food. All in all, I think it was value for money.

We were married recently at the White Hart and the day was perfect. The Hotel is an ideal venue and the staff were exceptional. The Hotel is brilliantly positioned in the centre of Harrogate but has the unique advantage of having a free car park for guests. The room rates are reasonable and the rooms are comfortable, all of our guests stayed at the hotel and there were no complaints. The wedding itself ran like clockwork and we felt totally at ease to allow the staff to manage the day, everything went without a hitch and this doesnt happen by magic, I am sure behind the scenes there were many a hot brow! The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. The dining room looked magnificent when it was fully dressed, i would recommend chair covers to anyone considering a wedding they make such a difference. The venue proved to be excellent for all of our guests with a room for the wedding ceremony, a bar and lounge and the dining room. Just around the corner are the beautiful Valley Gardens which are ideal for photos. If you are considering a wedding in Harrogate i would definately recommend this hotel. Well done and thank you to all of the staff for making our day perfect. If you are considering a wedding and wish to contact us via this site feel free.

After i booked this hotel and looked at the reviews i was feeling doubtful about staying. But after visiting it myself then i don't know what people have to complain about. Ok, so the wall paper wasn't modern but is that really a big deal????? It was clean, tv in the room, clean bathroom, clean bedding, friendly staff and best of all the breakfast was fantastic, buffet style and all fresh. i'd defo stay again.

I booked this room as I was attending a wedding at the venue. First impression was OK, lady on reception quite rude. Room was a joke. So small and basic for the price (£75 B&B) the room was on such a lean from subsidance I felt like I was on a ship! The wardrobe doors kept flying open, the bathroom door slammed when you opened it and I felt like I was going to roll off the bed most of the night! Hairdyer in room was broken, staff were somewhat put out when I asked for an iron and the windows let in a lovely breeze and all the noise from outside all night long.
On the plus side breakfast was good, although it should be for the cost and there is a free carpark which is handy. Also the location is good for town centre.
Would not recommend or go again.

We've stayed at this hotel on a few occassions - great location - and it has its own free parking which is a godsend in Harrogate. We've always had a lovely breakfast - cooked to order with great local produce - it's tasty and just as requested. The double bedrooms have generally been two twin beds "locked" together (austrian twin style) - so very spacious and also comfy. The bathrooms aren't large - but the showers are fine and the water's hot. However, some rooms have a perculiar arrangement of power points and electric sockets in the headbords behind the pillows - which is strange. It may not be that "special" - but overall we find the hotel great value and we often use it when we stay in Harrogate.

I stayed in this hotel at short notice and booked through Late Rooms. My single room was £50 B+B. The location is excellent - very central with a private car-park at the rear; you need a token from reception to exit. I found the parking difficult with not much room and quite tight spacings. Reception was basic but the staff were pleasant. My single room was an average size with a small single bed. It was clean, with some nice aged pine furniture, but it did lack home comforts. There was a tea tray and TV with Sky, but no information and no bathroom products at all except Dove cleanser fixed to the walls so that I had to stand and reach up whilst having a bath - I really hate that as it is a small thing but shows lack of attention to detail. Towels were clean. The decor of the room was generally dated, with an odd combination of taupe walls, an old fashioned pale green bedspread and light, black and white curtains, poorly fitted. I slept reasonably well. I found corridors and public areas quite dated too, but comfortable.
Breakfast was served in a large, airy dining room - tea and toast brought to your table and otherwise a buffet style affair. Cereals were the individual boxed packets, and I didn't have anything hot although it looked fine with eggs and meats etc. Newspapers were available on a table by the door.
I found the overall ambience very soulless and friends commented on this too when they popped in to drop me off. The effect is old fashioned. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful and elegant, but that does not follow through on the inside really which is a shame as its stonework and position really should make it a gem.

We stayed one night. Looked good from the outside but the room was very dissapointing. Small, tatty and not very clean. The wasn't enough attention to detail as regards the cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom, The window ledges were very dirty in the corners and the curtain had a big rip in it, bed cover stained and the bathroom needed a good blitzing. There were grubby marks on the kettle and the cups were stained. On the plus side the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast was very good and free parking was a plus. Wouldn't stay again or recommend to anybody.
