“Quaint And Charming”

Stayed for one night en route to Scotland and my husband and I were not disappointed. Yes, it's an old building but that's part of the magic about this hotel. So much history (as once a hospital, apparently!).
Our room was nice, food (breakfast and dinner) fabulous. The staff friendly, polite and so eager to give us some history info on the Hotel and surrounding areas. Lots to see, great walks.
Stumbled across this beautiful place by accident and will definitely return for a longer visit.

Stayed here on business recently. The meeting rooms are a tad quirky in terms of decoration, but clean, good size and a pleasant environment, and good parking facilities. The evening meal in the Fat Badger was really really good, with great attention to detail shown in the cooking and good ingredients. The traditional bar with great beer is also well worth visiting, lots of choice of good ales. The first room I got offered was incredibly noisy with the window open (it was hot) due to large extractor in centre of building, all the inward facing rooms the same. But on asking to be moved this was very pleasantly dealt with and the rooms on the front are far more pleasant. Overall I'd definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: pick one at the front looking out onto the street.

Reception staff great & room price attractive. Asked for a quiet room which it was but dingy outlook. Fat badger great, drinks expensive. Excellent location breakfasts are gorgeous & good quality produce. Booked again for sept and hope to get better room as it was a bit dark & tired.

We booked the White Hart Hotel as a stopover for a visit to Harrogate due to its excellent location within easy reach of everything including the train station. We had no problems checking in and had a double room at the rear of the hotel which we thought would be quiet but unfortunately was quite noisy early morning, due to what sounded like building works going on elsewhere and the refuse men making their morning collections. However being slap back in the middle of town made up for this and it did not detract from our stay. The shower was excellent as were the toiletries supplied which were Molton Brown. Breakfast was very good especially the hot breakfast which was included within the room rate of £89. We would definitely return and although we arrived by train there is a car park at the rear of the hotel. The other advantage is The Fat Badger bar and pub adjoining the hotel with outside seating, which was well used due to the wonderful weather we had.

Good location but a bit soulless and would avoid a room at the back as the kitchen fans are noisy throughout the night

First impression was good with the car park behind the hotel, some of the bays are small so a bit tight if you have a larger car . Reception was easy to find and the greetings was polite

The room looked ok, a bit tired but in good orde the bathroom was bright and airy a good shower but slippery bath, so suggest you ask for a non slip mat.

Good breakfast, cooked to order so does take some time but worth it ,

In summary good with nothing outstanding

We make an annual pilgrimage to Harrogate and have, for the last 10 years stayed at The Crown. I do not like The Crown and have slated it in previous reviews.
This hotel is better than the Crown - Much, much better.
However, it is an example of the continual cost of trying to keep a very old building up-to-date and keep it maintained.
All public rooms are great. The centre of everything is The Fat Badger pub which attracts many locals and visitors and is always busy but with very efficient and polite bar staff. We spent several hours in there and with the weather being good, the outdoor area was rammed.
I had breakfast on two mornings and it was fresh, tasty and served politely and efficiently.
Now, the negatives:
- Room was large
- Room was dated with poor furniture and peeling woodchip paper
- Bath was too shallow
- Room was insufferably hot
- Bed was two singles pushed together. It was too hard.
- Bed had all electrical sockets behind the pillows (Because it was two singles pushed together) - Dangerous!
- Wifi was out if signal
- Taps on sink were wrongly positioned and too close to the edge
- Numerous fag ends in the gully outside the window.

This is a hotel with potential and with a great asset - A car park!
It just needs a bit more cash spending on it but I do understand why this would be an issue with such an old building!

I stayed here for one night this weekend as I was attending a trade show at the Harrogate Conference Centre and this hotel is within easy walking distance. My room was small and a little dated which was not a problem, however the extremely noisy and hot extractor fan right outside my bedroom window made for a very unpleasant stay. I complained as soon as I checked in about the loud humming noise and extreme heat in the room (I think caused from the extractor fan and being next door to the utility room as well as it being warm outside) however was advised the hotel was fully booked and I could not be moved. Receptionist arranged a small fan for my room which made a slight improvement. Had a very hot and bothered night's stay. Hotel Manager offered a complimentary night for a return stay in a newly refurbished room in another area of the hotel.. may take this offer up as Harrogate such a lovely place to visit but in no rush for another evening at the White Hart Hotel.
