This is one of my most favourite places in North Yorkshire. We first visited Brimham Rocks in the early 1980s and go back regularly whenever we can. You can park at the entrance (pay & display) and then walk along the main path to the cafe and visitor centre or there are other routes around the Rocks area. The rock formations are fascinating and it's fun to identify which ones are which (many formations have been given names). The views from the visitor centre are stunning on a clear day and there's a helpful interpretation board pointing out what you can see. The visitor centre has lots of interesting information about the rocks and a small National Trust shop. It's a favourite place for rock climbers and a place where my husband used to take soldiers to teach them rock climbing. He would also take them to the 'rocking rock' - a very scary experience! I love the peace and quiet there (if there are not too many children running about!) and it's a wonderful place to sit and reflect.

A really nice place to go for a few hours, being able to climb over the rocks adds a nice fun twist to the usual walk, and if you're brave enough to climb to the top then you are rewarded with some fantastic views over the surrounding area.

Just try not to go when it's very windy, like we did :s

And just to quantify the previous complaint about parking; parking is £4, hardly extortionate. And this money doesn't line the pockets of a businessman, it goes to the national trust, so is effectively a charitable donation.

I have been to Brimham rocks quite a few times growing up and as an adult, only as an adult do you realiser the extortionate parking costs, there used to be a honest box In which you could put whatever you felt like for your parking fees.

Utter same I won't be going back due to the parking costs out of principal it's extortionate
And entry fee would be preferable

As for the site itself its excellent for a quick trip out.
