Excellent 3 night stay, staff were efficient and friendly, varied dinner menu which should meet all tastes. Breakfast was good, although the fruit and cold meats should have been replenished as they were consumed.

Room at the top of the hotel was very hot and we were unable to open the window fully. Housekeeping were efficient and helpful.

Enjoyed a 2 days stay, breakfast as good as any 5 star we have had in London however this morning they seemed short of staff no one to take you to tables, lots of tables uncleared, nothing replenished on table with juices, cereals, etc. 2 weddings on Thursday whilst nice they do take up the hotel bar area which means guests struggle to get served or get a seat.

To keep with the 4 star standard some rooms & corridors need painting and attention to detail curtains of hooks, light bulbs out.

Bedrooms spotlessly clean & good apart from very tiny bathroom, would benefit with air conditioning as rooms very hot, tv would be better on the wall instead of under window getting hot from the sunlight and akward position to look at it from bed.

All staff were great that we met especially on reception, at the bar (Alex) and the bar manager very friendly. Enjoyed the bits dotted about giving you an insight into Agatha Christie having stayed there in 1926 when she went missing for 10 days. An enjoyable stay will return soon

We stayed while attending a wedding, the meal was quite good although we were served by a young girl with black hair who was a little rude and looked liked she didn't want to be there at all, after the meal we went to the bar where we came across STEVE the bar tender, he had a big smile on his face, was very polite and seemed to be serving all the guests on his own, which he did very well, eventually two girls came to help him out and they were also very good but not quite as quick and efficient as poor Steve was who was working his socks off, we soon realised that there was another wedding taking place and saw that the bar staff were very busy but still made time for every one in the bar. Steve however was acceptional, going out of his way to get people chairs to sit down, bring drinks over to them and he also went round checking on people. Not only that but we then saw him the next morning, we don't know what time he must of finished but the poor lad must of been tired and yet he came out and greeted us with that same big smile, asking us if we wanted coffee and some biscuits, which by the way was fantastic. Overall he made our stay and we hope the hotel manager knows what a delightful and hard working member of staff he is. Thankyou STEVE and thankyou the Old Swan Hotel xxx

Those looking for a smart, shiny glass and chrome hotel should not consider the Old
Swan as this is a venerable old building well into its second centuary. As such it will be
appreciated by those who can savour the spacious opulence of a bygone age while
overlooking the uneven floors and other features resistant to the most expensive
refurbishment. The outstanding feature of the hotel, which many reviewers have noted
and which we can confirm, is the friendly and helpful staff. They clearly like working
there - in fact, some told us they did - and this shows. We had a large, comfortable
bedroom which was well cleaned and serviced.
The catering provided a variable experience. Breakfast was good on the whole with
cold food presented on a large, open central table and hot from the kitchen cooked to
order. Choice was good but none of the fresh food was cooled. Investment needed here.
Dinner appeared to be variable in quality depending on choice of dish. Timing of dinners
is inflexble at busy periods. Pre-booking is essential if one wishes to eat early.
As part of one of the hotels special offers it should be regarded as good value as all
hotels are striving to offer attractive deals. Parking is both ample and free.

My wife and I enjoyed a special offer of 1 night bed, breakfast and evening meal plus a complimentary drink before our evening meal and a packed lunch on our departure for £99. It was very good value. We had a quiet, well furnished room which was very comfortable. Staff were attentive and always willing to ensure that requests were met promptly - and with a smile. The food was good, especially the breakfast - probably the best breakfast in any hotel we have stayed at in recent years. There was a wide choice of both hot and cold food of a very good quality. Dinner was good except that the main course could have been better - my wife chose the fish which was excellent but a very small portion whilst my roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was marred by some rather tough beef. But starters and desserts were good.We felt that the wine was rather expensive since it had increased somewhat since we stayed only a few months ago.We found the hotel very relaxing and peaceful but we were there on a Sunday evening. We have enjoyed 1 night breaks at this hotel a number of times in the last 2-3 years (not always on a Sunday) and we have never been disappointed and we would not hesitate to return
