Cedar Court Hotel
Ranked #12 of 28 Hotels in Harrogate
Reviewed July 27, 2011

We recently booked the Cedar Court for our annual buying trip to the Home & Gift trade fair in Harrogate. We normally stay in the very centre of the town, but by chance this year we couldn't get booked up and we chose the Cedar Court instead, which is only a ten minute walk from Harrogate town centre.

When we arrived we were instantly impressed by the beautifully tended grounds and the elegant appearance of the hotel. Parking is always an issue in Harrogate, so it was great to find the more than ample (free) parking at the front and rear of the hotel, meaning that we were able to leave the car there for the duration of our four day trip.

The staff on reception were very welcoming and our last minute request for an extra bed in our room had been taken care of by the very helpful reservation staff. We were given a room which had ample space for our party of three.

Overall, this hotel is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. There is a lovely lounge area where you can order meals or just chill out. The hotel also has a restaurant, but we didn't get the chance to try it. Our room was bright and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay.

With friendly and very helpful staff, a stunning location overlooking The Stray in Harrogate and a great standard of accomodation, we know where we'll be staying when we visit Harrogate in future!

Room Tip: Lovely views at the front of the hotel. A little noisy if there's a wedding etc, but not a big...

Stayed here for a weekend superbreak, with dinner included on the 1st night. The dinner was excellent. The Hotel is a good 10mins walk from the centre of Harrogate but there are no hills and neither me nor the wife found this tiring (both in mid 50's). The hotel is 4 star and the room had every thing that would be expected of it, ample parking which is a must for Harrogate because the carparks in town are expensive. Harrogate is not a lively town and tends to cater for the elderly day trippers, but on an evening there are some great Pub come restaurants, we enjoyed a some good food at The Old Bell, but there is plenty of choice in this town.

Well located hotel overlooking the gorgeous greenery of Harrogate.
The facade of the hotel is lovely but the rooms I would say are only fair/average. They're clean and comfortable but the rooms themselves and the corridors on each floor are looking a little dated and tired, and need a thorough refurb. The price per room is very reasonable though, so real value for money in Harrogate.
The breakfasts were very nice - the daily fresh home-made fruit smoothies and the black pudding are both excellent.
Very impressed that there is free WIFI throughout the hotel, which is a real bonus, especially as I was staying here for work.

My wife and I have visited Harrogate many times but this was our first visit to Cedar Court Hotel.
I viewed an offer from Travelzoo which was unbelievable really: £89 per room per night including breakfast which also included an upgrade to a front facing executive room and a 3 course a la carte evening meal on the first night.
Although the room was fairly small it was comfortable and we had no problems. The evening meal was absolutely superb, well presented and unusual and delicious dishes. Wine a bit pricey but about what you'd expect in a hotel.
Breakfast was in a beautiful dining room consisting a buffet type with plenty of choice of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and full English with top quality ingredients, very tasty.
A very comfortable lounge/bar area. We didn't visit the fitness centre so cannot comment.
The staff were extremely polite, helpful and efficient
All in all, a very enjoyable weekend in a very comfortable hotel and I would recommend to anyone

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and found it pleasant enough. It's clean and tidy but sadly any period features it may have had when the hotel was built have all been ripped out or papered over. The decor is now a dated 80s chintz which a lick of magnolia/ white paint would help sort out. We didn't eat in the restaurant at all so can't comment on the food. The staff were all pleasant and helpful although on the first morning the maid outside our room was very noisy, playing music loud enough to hear over the hoover and speaking loudly on the phone. The pillows could also do with being replaced, but we slept well enough. It was also a little further from the town than we were expecting.

A beautiful hotel with good, clean bedrooms. Stayed on a package break which was excellent value. The breakfasts were buffet style, but good and varied with attentive waiting staff (although some of the non-British could have smiled!). The Brasserie Restaurant offeres a varied menu & although was a bit 'chefy', the food was very good.
The receptionists were very friendly and helpful.
