This is a hotel that is dining out on a reputation that disappeared at least fifty years ago.
Sumptuous lobby areas and the largest toilets I have ever seen cannot overcome the sad fact that the rooms are very small, outdated, shabby as are the common areas above the impressive ground floor.
Room service was okay but quite expensive and the staff were generally unhelpful and seemed to be going through the motions.
Put me in mind of the hotel in the shining but with real people instead of ghosts (I think)
I would avoid unless you get a room for less than £50 a night.
Oh, and to queue at least ten people deep for a table at breakfast. Unacceptable so we went and had breakfast somewhere else.
