Stayed here with a friend as we had booked in at the Turkish baths and planned to go to Betty's for afternoon tea (the snow bet us on that one). When we arrived they had no record of our reservation until they searched my email trail and found confirmation. We were then shown to our room by what I think was the housekeeping manager who was very helpful.
Modern, clean public areas and rooms, tasteful decorated. The breakfast was amazing and hot (a rareity for a buffet breakfast). We ate in the restaurant attached to the hotel (Signatures) due to the cold weather and weren't disappointed. The food was very good. The head waitress was great, as were the bar staff.
Unfortunately the snow meant we had to leave early, but not until one of the staff literally spent an hour digging us out of the car park. Thank you so much to him.
I got the hotel in a Groupon deal which made the stay excellent value for money but would stay here having paid the usual rate without question. You're next door to the Conference Centre and a 5 min walk into town.
Lovely stay.

AVOID at all costs - dirty, dusty and customer services don't even reply to your legitimate complaints !

What a massive let down this place is.
We arrived and were checked in, given keys to our room which was room 1109.

The room was on the small side, but as we weren't expecting a suite this wasn't too much of a problem. What was a problem was how filthy the room was.
The best feature of this room is a nice, big bath but then again after all the dust in the room you need a bath to get clean. The room door, skirting boards and walls had scuff marks on them, all of which could have been washed / wiped off and cleaned.

The room quite close to the left, which is both handy and a nightmare as the floorboards in the corridor creak every time someone walks past the room.

Next morning we were looking forward to a lovely breakfast - yet another let down, as we were in a quite dark, downstairs cramped room, with people queuing for food, squeezing past tables and there was nothing relaxing about the breakfast experience,
The food wasn't too bad, a serve yourself hot buffet, with juice and cereal available too.

Upon check out the receptionist asked if everything was fine with our stay, I said the room was the dirtiest I had stayed in ever and there was thick layers of dust.
The reply was - " sorry about that, I'll let them know ".

This wasn't quite the apology we were expecting, so upon returning home I emailed the hotel directly to raise my complaints, enclosing photos. The email was sent 3 weeks ago on 1st March and to date has not even been responded to.

This was part of the email I sent;

The room itself is possibly the smallest room I have ever stayed in, but it was the lack of housekeeping that was the main issue here.
Walls and doors had scuff marks that could have so easily been wiped off. There was dust on skirting board, especially in the bathroom. The front of the wardrobe in the bedroom was dirty as was the tops of the furnishings.
The most disgusting amount of dust was on the back on the television - this was not dust that had accrued overnight or a couple of days, this was weeks if not months old.

So 3 weeks have past and not heard anything at all in response.

There are much nicer / cleaner in Harrogate that I have stayed in and I'd choose somewhere else than risk a return to the Kimberley.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel, the Bistro Du Vin has always been spotless when I have stayed there

We stayed at the Kimberley for a 2 night weekend break – B&B with evening dinner on the first night.
The room I would give 5 out of 5. We were in the annex at the back of the hotel; the room was huge with a 40” LCD TV on the wall and a very well equipped bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities and free bottled water. Our room had a view to a woodland area at the back which was very nice.
The breakfast I would give just 2 out of 5. This is in an older part of the hotel and the décor is dated. The room isn’t really big enough for the number of guests and everything seemed very cramped, rushed and haphazard. They serve you tea/coffee and you help yourself to everything else. On both mornings we waited an age to get served. The help yourself buffet breakfast is nice but you couldn’t swing a cat in the area they have allocated for this. It all just needs modernizing and better organization.
The evening meal is served in a separate more modern restaurant setting and I would give this 4 out of 5. We have either a choice of a set menu or£15 allowance each – from our inclusive evening meal deal. The food and service was very good, although they had run out of the house wine so we had to pay more for the next one up. It would have been a nice touch to have offered the next wine up at the same price, but maybe that’s just me.
The hotel is ideally situated just about 5 mins walk from Harrogate centre, just off the beaten track but not too far.
As other reviews have recommended, parking is chargeable but you can park for free on the road next to the hotel, outside the hotel entrance then first left. There are a limited number of free spaces before it becomes residents parking though.
All in all an enjoyable stay – 4 out of 5 overall I would say, we wouldn’t return mainly because the breakfast was a bit of a bind!

Room Tip: An annex room at the back overlooking the woodland and a high floor room will make for an even bette...

Went to the " Signature Bistro " within the Hotel with a "deal" £19 for two main courses....Steak or Sea Food so we had one of each (as you would) we decided to order a starter to share so we chose the Calamary............delicious......... mains Steak cooked to my liking (rare.........mmmm) Sea Food had Tuna, Prawns, Haddock, Sea Bass and one others fish served with seasonal veg, we had a very nice meal on this deal and but on the down side our side plates, cutlery and drinking glasses not in use were not removed.....nor did we get a " table check" this should have been the "norm" in this type of establishment !!!!!!!!!!! we did have a brilliant young man by the name of Jamie who came to clear our table and we spoke to him regarding our concerns, this was dealt with by appologies all round ............we had a little chat with Jamie and found him to be very pleaseant and informative young man worth keeping and nurturing ( Bisro take note) would we go back ??? yes but I think only on a "deal" as we were not fulluy convinced about good value for money (our main courses were approx £19.00 per head) service was good and there was a good vibe to the Bistro with low lights wich helped to make it cosy........ we will look out for a " deal to have an overnight stay with breakfst " as jamie pointed out that they "hold" them often all in all a very enjoyable visist..........

Room Tip: Ase didnt stay we cannot comment in the rooms but we are thinking of going to stay so look out for m...

we came to harrogate for a weekend break, have been a couple of times before and stayed in different hotels .Thought the location was very good short stroll to town centre with lots of pubs and restraunts .Our room was in a annex to the rear of the main building this appeared to be quite a modern addition to the original building .Room itself was large as was the bathroom clean and tidy with a large king size bed .Staff were very helpful and informed me of parking charge which was 6 pounds per night they also advised that breakfast time could get busy after 9 , therfore we had breakfast about 8 and missed the rush. Brekfast is an open buffet with plenty of choice all in all a pleasant enough stay.

Room Tip: my room was 3004 which was in new annex ok for me but a short walk from the main and probably not fo...

Third time we have stayed at this hotel. Always had a room in the newer part of the hotel but usually upgraded for a small extra charge. Have to agree with another reviewer about the lounge though, it is cold and not very welcoming etc but that is the only downside of the hotel. Bistro is very good and you can't fault the breakfasts . Good location for seeing Harrogate. Hotel was full but no noise at night.

Room Tip: Request a room in Annexe or an upgrade

My boyfriend and i had a KGB deal to use up for a one night stay with a bottle of wine and breakfast included for £59. It seems to be that different people have different experiences depending on what room they are allocated. We were lucky enough to have a deluxe room in the annexe which was very modernly decorated, spacious and had a nice view out of the window. The bathroom was particularly lovely, even though we did have a flickering light. Also, the bottle of wine was ready for us in the room on arrival. The hotel is in great proximity to the town centre, only a 5 minute walk. We arrived early and parked the car up at about 11.30ish and there seemed to be plenty of spaces to park at this time. The £6 parking i think is a bit of a rip off as you are already paying to stay there however, we were happy to pay it as free parking on the street seemed hard to come by and you would probably spend that much parking in an NCP Car Park. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and plenty of it. Perhaps the dining area is a little cramped for such a large hotel. We were warned at reception that they were very busy so we might have to wait to be seated for breakfast but, we arrived for breakfast at about 9.45 and were seated straight away so it was not a problem. Overall we had a brilliant stay at the Kimberley Hotel but, i am not sure we would pay the full price for this hotel. Especially with what seems to be a bit lucky or unlucky with room allocation.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room in the Annexe for spacious modern rooms!
