“Lovely break!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

We decided to take advantage of a Groupon offer and stayed here for 2 nights. I don't think I could afford the normal rates but my wife and I certainly received value for money. Although the room was classed as basic it was a good size and was nice and warm. And the large bed was very comfortable and the room had all the extras you could expect. But the best surprise was the bathroom. I've stayed in hotel rooms that were this big!
We also had a Groupon for The Signature Restaurant which we took advantage of. The food and service were excellent and we both said that we would definitely pay the full price.
The buffet breakfasts were of very high quality in the comfortable Cullinan Restaurant.
Just one thing that bothers me a little but did not detract from the pleasure of our stay - we got in conversation with a local girl in town. When we mentioned that we were staying at The Kimberley she said that she'd applied for a job there but had no chance because she is not Polish. I don't know if this was just sour grapes but we did realise that most of the excellent staff are foreign. Are there no unemployed local people in Harrogate?

This is a lovely hotel, 10 minutes walking distance to the centre of Harrogate. We were a little apprehensive as we had booked a basic room, but we didn't need to be. The room was homely, spacious, clean with a very comfy bed and large bathroom. Checking in and out was all very smooth and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Harrogate. The only down side was an extremely loud shower!
If in Harrogate, go to the Turkish baths, 10 min walk away and are brilliant way to spend an early evening.

This hotel goes from strength to strength!! our 4th visit this year.Lovely friendly staff, always helpful and eager to please. Goiod deals can be had by KGB deals or ringing the hotel direct and they will generally match the KGB deal.(More money for them as KGB take a big discount!!)The executive/deluxe rooms are lovely including the bottle of wine!! enjoy!!

Room Tip: always ask for an upgrade if possible, its usually only £20 anyway

Had a two night stay at the Kimberley last week.
Great room (de luxe room 3006). Large and very clean. Lady on reception was brilliant, lovely personality and very helpful. Had two evening meals and they were first class. Only complaint was breakfast which is full English, but self service, and was only luke warm on the first day and had to queue due to busy, over crowded breakfast room. Apart from that I would recommend the hotel and will definitely be returning.

Just got back from the Kimberley after spending 2 nights on a KGB deal. After ready reviews was not quite sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. We paid a little extra and upgraded to the Annexe. (I am sure some people get upgraded for no extra cost but we did not want to take the risk). On arrival was greeted by the girl at reception, she could have not been more helpful and very professional. She explained everything regarding the whereabouts of the room, breakfast room and the dining room. We booked to eat in the Signature restaurant the first evening and enjoyed a lovely meal. The room was lovely airy and warm, the bathroom was fitted out beautifully. So quiet and peaceful. The only negative was the bed. Comfy enough but no mattress protector (I would have thought standard for hygiene reasons) especially in a 4* establishment. Tea/coffee facilities were good and water replenished daily. Easy walking distance to Town Center, all in all a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate in recommending to others.

Room Tip: Book a Annexe room lovely and quiet and lovely view of the wood at the back.

Nice hotel in a very convenient location for exploring Harrogate. Leave the car as the hotel is only a few minutes walk away from some amazing restaurants and the excellent shopping area. The staff at the kimberley were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast is buffet style and good - plenty of choice and again very efficient staff. This is the second time we have used this hotel and we will use it again.

My wife and I booked for a couple of nights using the Deal Monster offer. Iwas feeling under the weather the day before and in hindsight should have cancelled. We travelled in the hope that i may feel better but had to come home after 24 hrs, hence the review title. We arrived a little early and were greeted by a young girl on reception who despite her young age dealt with us in as good a manner as i have ever been dealt with before. The room was not ready but she said if we went into the bistro for a drink she would call down when the room was ready. Not long before it was ready and we went back to reception to check in. Several people where waiting to do the same and the poor girl was on her own but dealt with everyone brilliantly. Our room was in the annexe at the back of the hotel and appeared a relatively new build. The room was very spacious with queen size bed , very nice bathroom and big flat screen tv. Tea/coffee making facilities, letter writing pads with envelopes etc. Newspapers can be ordered for the following morning and breakfast can be taken in your room if you wish. We had no semi skimmed milk to brew up with but one of the porters who brought our case went and got us some. Lovely meal in the Signatures restaurant in the evening but the breakfast, although it had plenty of choice could have only been described as warm at best. Some under-cooked bacon and sausage saw me leave more than i ate. Would go back as Hotel and staff where brilliant. ... Give that receptionist a rise before someone else snaps her up. £6 to park per night is a good earner for the hotel as there are around 40 places which i would imagine are taken up every night givng the hotel around £1,700per week in revenue. Not bad at all.
