“Fantastic location & superb apartment. Efficient, helpful staff.”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

Our 4 night stay at Flat 2, Spring House was wonderful. We needed car parking. Thankfully we ended up in the most perfect accommodation with 24/7 off road, on-site parking in front of the lovely old townhouse, which was palatial. Outstanding value for money. Initial access by coded security box to obtain door keys was effortless. The Property Managers were helpful and very efficient. The townhouse was immaculate. There were only 2 of us but it could have easily accommodated 11 comfortably. The designer dining kitchen on second floor was huge, with expensive crockery, cutlery, glassware, domestic size appliances and it opened on to a deck overlooking pretty garden and was very luxurious as were both lounge rooms, each with a TV. These and huge main bathroom with gorgeous claw foot rolled edge tub, modern large glass shower cubicle and laundry room (with washing machine and separate dryer) are all on second floor. The three light, airy and large bedrooms, two with en-suites, are on the third floor. The two sets of double stairwells were not difficult, but a consideration for anyone with mobility issues. The location was a 10 minute easy walk to the retail centre of Harrogate. It is a pretty and historically interesting town anyway but staying in this beautiful townhouse was a thrill.

The first thing we noticed about these apartments is that, although they are advertised as "boutique" and "luxury", they are neither. Our apartment came with standard fittings and furnishings, and we had to carry our luggage up to the third floor. I was sorry that it had not occurred to me to raise the subject of stairs, although I would not have expected this to be an issue in "luxury" apartments.

We had booked a one bedroom apartment for two nights, but were allocated apartment 5 at 127 Valley Drive which contains two double bedrooms. We were pleased we could use the surplus room for luggage, however I think four people sharing this apartment would find it rather crowded, especially if they had large suitcases as we did, having travelled from overseas. Also, the bathroom is very small, has no window and a continuously unpleasant musty smell, and a towel rack that could comfortably accommodate one bath towel. The bed in the room we used was a little soft and creaky, but ok. On arrival we found the bathroom stocked with 1.5 rolls of toilet paper, one tiny cake of soap, and one very small container each of shampoo and shower gel. We thought it rather miserly that they couldn't even stretch to two full rolls of toilet paper. In addition to the absence of luxury, the apartment also lacked the charm or atmosphere I would associate with an establishment billing itself "boutique". The photos on the website look better than the reality.

On the positive side, the apartment was clean and generally in good condition, and had a good kitchen. The shower was hot and strong. This apartment also had a closet containing a washer dryer, ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner, all very useful. Staff were courteous, helpful and prompt in communication. The apartments are located close to shops and parks in a quiet street, and come with free on-street parking and wifi.

The main negative is what we regarded as a misrepresentation of the standard of amenity offered, and which had influenced us to stay there.

Stayed here with my wife and another couple for a short break in Harrogate.

The appartment is ideally located on Valley Drive near the excellent Valley Park Gardens and only a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Harrogate. The apartments were fantastically clean and well presented when we arrived and the kitchen area is well equipped and functional. There is also the bonus of free parking on the road outside included as part of the deal.

We stayed in Flat 9 and our friends enjoyed the spacious double bedroom with ensuite facilities. My wife and I were in the second bedroom. This is a very narrow room which is down about four steps to enter and has only a rooflight rather than a window. There is no wardrobe and the two single beds are on opposite sides at either end of the room with the headboards facing each other. This made things a little cramped and unfriendly when we went to bed. It may be OK for a couple with younger kids but we found it below par for two adults to stay in.

The bathroom was a reasonable size with bath and good shower over. The addition of some more hooks and storage would really make things more practical and easy for guests.

It may be that the other apartments would be more suitable but the website doesn't give details of the individual apartments. My advise would be to ask about layouts and suitability when booking. We would definately use the agency again with this proviso.

Overall this represented good value, clean accomodation with more flexibility than a hotel but with some practical issues for two couples staying together.

I stayed in a lovely flat. Very clean, cosy and nice decor. Quiet location. Coffee and tea provided. Free parking was a bonus. The location next to the Harrogate International Centre was perfect( I stayed in the Spring Grove apartments).

My husband and I booked the apartments for two nights a along with another couple .The apartment was clean tidy and well maintained .I found fixtures and fittings to be of a good standard .It was a great location for the city centre and as an added bonus parking was free . My only reservation was one room was a double with an en-suite really lovely the other a twin but its a along time since I have slept in such a small twin end to end!!!!!Well equipped kitchen but need a pair of tongs and also induction hob and no instructions plus no toast rack .Despite these minor things everything else was great.

We stayed in one of the apartments on Spring Grove for 2 nights on 25th April and can't fault anything. The apartment was very clean & tidy and had all the facilities you need for a short break.

Location was excellent - Just a 5 minute walk to the HIC and the town centre

Booking process was simple and all instructions sent in good time

Will definitely use these apartments again

My colleague booked the apartment for one night and we were delighted with the accommodation. Immaculately presented and very clean and tidy. Excellent value for money and far superior to the hotels we would normally stay in. Great location with everything in easy walking distance. Will definitely book again next time were working in harrogate.
