This is a superb B & B and Judy and Sue are excellent hosts. Very helpful in suggesting places to vist. Excellent breakfast served with a smile. Very tastefully decorated with superb photographs of the area throughout the house. The bedroom was of a good size and the complimentary drinks tray was excellent with bottled water, biscuits, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Will definately return if we visit Harrogate again. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Judy and Sue went above and beyond to make my stay at the Alamah guest house comfortable and enjoyable. I had a single ensuite which was immaculate. Quality bedding and a very comfortable sleep.

Hospitality tray in the room brimming with biscuits, teas, coffee and branded hot chocolate and local bottled water, all replenished daily.

Spacious shower and sweet little toiletrees. Again absolutely spotless in the bathroom too.

The breakfast room is a peaceful haven to start the day with the backdrop of classical music playing softly in the background. Breakfast itself, cooked to perfection. Fresh filter coffee, sea salt in the shaker, freshly cut fruit in the fruit salad and just squeezed orange juice in the pitcher. Its all in the detail and Judy and Sue have thought of everything.

So sweet are the ladies; they even managed to print some important documents for me when I needed them quickly, using their own printer.

They also went out of their way to accommodate my luggage which needed to be stored after I had already checked out.

Location is literally a few steps away from the International Conference Centre.

No wonder the Alamah is consistently occupied, it delivers in every way.

Many thanks Judy and Sue!

It's always nice to feel you can safely recommend somewhere to friends and family; Alamah, run by Judy and Sue, is definitely one of those places. My friend Jackie and I couldn't fault this smashing bed and breakfast situated on a leafy road just five minutes' walk from Harrogate's town centre. Some on-site parking is available at the rear.

We received a lovely warm welcome on arrival and lots of information about where to eat and how to find our way round town. The house is tastefully decorated and our room was spotless with high quality bedding and extremely comfy mattresses. All the usual things you expect from a 4 star as well - good choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and Harrogate Spa Water on the hospitality tray with cookies as well! A hairdryer, radio/alarm/iPod dock, wall-mounted tv plus reading lamps completed the extras. There was plenty of storage, seating and spare sheets/blankets for anyone too hot or cold. Sockets and mirrors were sensibly located and easy to reach - how many times have you struggled to find somewhere to plug in the hairdryer? They seem to have thought of everything.

Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room, the walls boasting many of Judy's photographs of the region. Tables were set with high quality tableware and breakfast was exceptionally good. Cereals, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt were laid out to help-yourself. I can't recommend Judy's poached eggs enough; she also did scrambled eggs for some guests and brought the pan in to check if they were done to their taste before serving!

Judy and Sue clearly love being amongst people and providing an excellent service. They are willing to go the extra mile for guests where needed, including doing internet research and offering lifts in the car! They clearly enjoy the chance to chat with their guests and seemed in no hurry to see us go! So all in all an excellent stay and I hope we get the chance to go back.

Keep up the good work girls!!

Jackie and Jean

Says it all really. Wonderfully welcoming and friendly look no further if you want terrific Yorkshire hospitality in close proximity to Harrogate town centre. Judy and Sue run a spotlessly clean Guest House and make every effort to ensure a stay here is relaxing, pleasant and enjoyable. Great breakfasts too.

My husband and I stayed at the Alamah for 3 nights in June. Judy and Sue made us very welcome and we were able to check in earlier than the usual 5.00 p.m. which was very helpful.
Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable and we had lots of storage and hanging space for our clothes. The breakfasts were really good and freshly made and kept us going for much of the day.
The location was ideal being just a short walk to the restaurants and shops.
We would certainly recommend the Alamah and would not hesitate to stay again should we return to Harrogate. Thank you Judy and Sue.

We stayed in the alamah 2 weeks ago in half term with our 5 year old. We received a very warm welcome from judy and sue who could not have looked after us better. The breakfasts (especially the scrambled egg) were fab and our daughter liked the relaxed environment where she could play with her sticker book while we has one more slice of toast and a cup of tea! Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the location was perfect, an easy walk to great shops, the spa or valley gardens, the best park in the world according to our daughter. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: There is a large family room

We are really pleased you enjoyed Harrogate, particularly "the best park in the world"! It was good to meet your family and it is always lovely when there are children in the house. Despite the weather you managed to pack so many places into your stay and it was really interesting hearing all about them. Thank you for reviewing the Alamah so positively and we hope you will return one day.
