Afternoon tea for 1 was enough for 2! The setting was very beautiful and the staff were most attentive! Will most definitely be returning. Truly and English gem.

Ate here on 13 March 2013. Used upstairs, ground level, cafe. Chose an open sandwich each, and couldn't fault the taste or quality. It is a bit pricey, but as it's generally busy that isn't putting many people off.

Managed to get a window table, and this was great for watching world go by. Also used shop after we'd eaten -- again pricey, but some fantastic products.

Was treated to a voucher for afternoon tea as a Birthday Gift. A little dissapointing as we were sat in the basement so no outside views. Service & staff as ever were very good, however I do thinks it's overated & I would not normally pay over £18 for afternoon tea!

Being residents of Harrogate my partner and I are devotees of both the town centre and Harlow Carr branches of Betty's.

Over the years we have never been disappointed with either food or service and today was no exception.

Strangely for Sunday late morning there was no queue but I think that was due to the inclement weather. We opted to eat in the street level cafe bar and ordered a salmon and cream cheese croissant and open prawn and avocado sandwich. Both were excellent and were accompanied by pots of freshly brewed Earl Grey and Breakfast teas and my partner finished off with the ubiquitous fat rascal.

In these days of hurrying about and demanding immediate access to everything it is refreshing to know there are still places where one can sit and relax whilst having time to reflect and watch the world go by.

What is even better it is just on our doorstep!

Betty's tea rooms is an oasis of Englishness not found very often nowadays. The pleasant atmosphere of English tea room, smell of freshly brewed tea, sandwiches and cakes. Tea served in china cups always tastes better!
Worth a visit in Harrogate.
