As always the food was excellent. Service was a little slow especially to start with but they were very busy.

“Lovely but take your visa”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Well you can't visit Harrogate without going in is what people say so off we went. Luckily for us we didn't have to que outside.
It is a beautiful building and the staff were lovely. I ordered a mocha and a scone and my husband had a tea and a slice of cake and it came to just under £20. The food and drinks were both lovely and as a one off it was a nice little outing. But I'm too tight to pay that ona regular basis haha

I also felt like I had to whisper as all the tables were so close together. I know that's not a big thing o some people but I really don't like sitting on the knee of a stranger while I eat.
Overall nice place. A must visit ONCE

“Trading on reputation alone”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We, like many others, were looking forward to afternoon tea at Betty's and found it failed to meet our expectations. Unlike other afternoon teas for a similar price, once you've eaten what's on your plate, its all over. Many other tea rooms will refill your plate so we were disappointed that this wasn't the case at Betty's. 18 pounds for a round of sandwiches, a couple of macaroons and tartlets does not represent good value.
The ambience was superb and the service was prompt and efficent without being friendly. The quality of the food was excellent but we didn't expect to walk out of there still hungry after shelling out 36 pounds for the two of us.

Tea was bland, served in scalding hot tea pots with no napkins. Looked forward to going here for a while, so sad that the experience failed o deliver.

“Slightly Over Rated but a Must Visit Type of Place”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Lovely setting, lovely building and pleasant staff. However I feel its over rated, over priced and average tasting cakes. Cappuccino was however very good. Not my idea of fun queuing outside the door for quite a while for a cup of coffee! Probably a one off visit is all that is needed to say you've been.
