Don't let your first impressions fool you into thinking this is just your average truckers roadside cafe as you drive past on the A47. Stop and sample the wonderful home cooked food and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
We came upon this restaurant/cafe purely by chance and the "home cooked" sign lured us in for a quick bite to eat. It was on a Sunday and we weren't after a roast lunch but judging by all the empty plates around us, what was on offer must have been good.
I had the most wonderful mushroom soup while my husband had a very good, non-greasy all day breakfast. We then shared the most enormous portion of baked cheesecake I have ever seen! All of these were cooked by the lady who owns the restaurant with her son, who we spoke to as we paid and left.
I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area and only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often and try out some of the other items on the menu. What a little gem this is!
