My husband took me here for my birthday on 17th feb 2013 and loved it very much.

we go to best westerns all year for our birthdays and anniversay and i can say the food here was the best one, with having salmon and duck and a desert with three chocolates.

the jacuzzi and pool spotless and relaxing and the staff were very helpful.

the room was like a little cottage room with every thing you need and the hotel itself was part hotel and part castle.

the pub next door done lovely lunch as well

we will be coming back here on our anniversary in july as reccommend this hotel for everyone cant fault it at all.

This place has friendly staff and is an attractive timeless gem, for the money it is a smashing little hotel. The breakfast is good and it has a nice on site pub a little detached from the main hotel.

Just returned from a girlie overnight stay at this hotel. Our room was fabulous! very spacious clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our spa treatment was very relaxing and we also had a facial which was also very good. The food in the restaurant was excellent the menu was unusual and the presentation and quality of our dinner was great value. This is a great hotel to visit for couples and girls who are looking for a nice relaxing time, as the evening meal was fantastic!! The hotel is also set in lovely grounds and summer would be a nice time to visit to enable sitting outside making the most of the sunshine.

Room Tip: We stayed in room a hundred which is a twin room

This hotel has an extremely interesting history, and has retained plenty of character. Some rooms are in need of refurbishment but others are very well presented. The food in the restaurant was extremely good both in terms of quality and value. The wine list is not extensive but are generally sensibly priced. We didn't have chance to explore the grounds, but I'm sure that they are worth a look in the spring or summer. Would stay again if in the area

Had a wonderful time catching up with friend having a spa break. Staff could not have been more friendly. The hotel was well beyond expectations and had a relaxing experience at the spa, the inclusive meals on the spa deal were fantastic especially the evening meal , very high standard in my opinion , try the scallops!!!!
The grounds are lovely and very pretty in the snow , lovely walks locally.
Well worth a visit.
