“Unexpectedly good!”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

My husband and I stayed for one night at The Park Inn Peterborough. The overnight stay which included breakfast, had been a present from our son. The deal was in danger of expiring so we finally decided to use it on what turned out to be possibly the hottest day of the year! We arrived at about 2pm so consequently a free parking space was easily available. We were delighted that the Park Inn was situated in the centre of town and there was no need to use a car again until our departure. The Receptionist was really welcoming and efficient. We had a room on the third floor facing Asda. It was extremely clean and looked newly furnished. It had everything we needed including well- functioning air conditioning. The bathroom was excellent with spotless shower, sink and toilet. Although the room faced the main road we were not disturbed by road noise as we kept the windows shut at night and used the air conditioning. We loved the location- we visited the Cathedral, walked along the river, shopped and enjoyed the excellent ale at The Brewery Tap. The theatre was also close to the hotel as was the Lido. There are small park areas and also boat- cafes alongside the river bank. Breakfast was really enjoyable and varied- Mullerlight yogurts, a selection of fresh fruits, cooked items that were regularly replenished, pastries etc. The coffee was particularly good. Again we were greeted with a cheery smile at breakfast time. All the staff really appear to work together as a team, to produce an enjoyable atmosphere in this city centre hotel. Our thanks to them all for a really pleasant stay.

We paid £55 for 1 night which for a city centre location isn’t bad at all. The hotel was easy to find and from the outside you can see it’s quite new and fresh. We were checked in quickly and given our room key.

First thoughts on the room were good ones, looked fine for a budget hotel. The bed was huge but was 2 singles bolted together. The TV was a bit annoying, offered loads of channels but every time you clicked on one it said "no signal" but this wasn’t a huge problem. The main things we noticed with our room is the carpets had quite a few brown dirty marks and the shower tray filled up with water during a shower and overflowed. The bedding also wasn’t fitted properly and looked like it could never be fitted properly.

Stayed for two nights on Groupon voucher (£89 for 2nights bed and breakfast with three course evening meal for two in first night). Very friendly welcome by staff who suggested a room at the back of the hotel which was quiet but looked onto buildings (we didn't mind this, we're really glad we had a quiet room). Very hot the first night but this was our own fault as we didn't see the air con switch on the wall(it was the hottest weekend of the year though). Fantastic location right by the shops, so didn't need the car ata all(free parking for residents). Free WiFi in rooms, but not advertised. Very nice light airy room which was modern and extremely clean. Tea and coffee making facilities, safe, and hair dryer. Food in restaurant was gorgeous(restricted to Groupon deal) but as I don't like chips they let me have a huge salad instead. Hubby paid extra for steak but loved it. Waitresses were very attentive and lovely. Drinks were a bit pricey but they have to make their money somehow and this is a city hotel after all. Great stay won't ever stay anywhere else in Peterborough even without Groupon deal.

Room Tip: A room out the back. 328 is a good one

We were using the train to commute into London from Peterborough and this hotel was ideal. A 5 minute walk to the station and 2 or 3 minutes into the town centre.
The reception is bright and airy with a large bar area and what appeared to be a nice restaurant area although we didn't use it.
The hotel has its own car park which is monitored by CCTV and you get free parking until 12:30 of the day you checkout.
The rooms are a very decent size, we didn't have a view of any description as we were at the back of the hotel but I think the rooms at the front could be noisy as it overlooks a dual carriageway. We had to ask for extra pillows as the paper thin one provided gave absolute no comfort but otherwise the room was great.
Bar prices were a bit high - just shy of £7 for a glass of wine - and there was no atmosphere in the bar so we used the Beehive pub directly across the road.
We would definitely use this hotel again if we were to stay in Peterborough.

we have just spent 2 nights at this hotel, and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality. Rooms were spotless, high floor facing the back(even numbers)was very quiet, Staff were friendly at all times, and the breakfast buffet was really good. We normally stay at Premiers, but this was just as nice, right in the centre, shops ,pubs were all walking distance. All in all, we had a very nice stay at the Raddison.

Room Tip: even numbers, high floor for a good night sleep.

me and my boyfriend stay here quite regularly as the location of the hotel is great and is good value especially if you are a Club Carlson member (cheap nights points for stay which can be redeemed for free nights)
The hotel is clean and all the staff are very friendly, although its right on a main road the windows block out all the sound of traffic and you do have a peaceful nights sleep.
The only downside to this hotel that is breakfast is over priced for what it is but other than that I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

stayed here on business. Just off dual carriage way around Peterborough - poor air conditioning so open window and ave unadulterated noise or sweat . In the ned I slept on the floor. Breakfast OK but I bet there are better placed to stay.

Room Tip: Make sure that you don't have a room on the front of the hotel unless it is winter"
