The wife and I stayed here on Saturday 21 June 14, cracking stay .
We had a meal in the afternoon, (as we were attending the steaming blues weekend at the near by Nene Valley Railway), it was tasty and fresh.
The breakfast was plentyful, and I ordered scrambled eggs on toast and the wife ordered the full cooked breakfast, within five minutes it arrived, steaming hot.
Plenty of tea and coffee too.
We stayed in room 8, very good, but needs a lick of paint and a freshen up in the room/bathroom, also, needs a blind in the window in the ceiling as let in light about 0530 in the am!
Nice flat screen TV, and when I asked for some more milk, the girl behind the bar arrived at the room door with a jug of fresh milk about three minutes later, very quick service!
I hope the management pass on these comments to her and the friendly guy with the ponytail, who too was a credit to the business.
Well done staff!

Stayed after an horrendous traffic delay.Received a very warm and genuine welcome.Checked in to my room which was non too impressive and in desperate need of updating. The plus side was an exceptionally comfortable bed.Service in the bar for drink and food was very good, and the dinner very appetising.

My wife and I have just got back from a couple of nights stay at this hotel and, even though it was a last minute decision, we have to say we had a great time. We had booked through LastMinute.com on a tariff adverstised as 'Lover's special offer', with dinner, bed & breakfast, and 'Larger rooms, could be a double, 4 poster or bridal suite'. We were greeted warmly and given our key but we have to admit when we saw the room, Room 4, we were a little disappointed as it was a family room, with a double in one room and bunk beds in a separate room that you went through to reach the bathroom. The room itself was in need of some redecoration and the bathroom too (the towel ring came off the wall when I tried to hang a towel it). On the second night though, following a conversation with one of the members of staff, we were asked if we would like to move to the Bridal Suite, Room 1, which was pretty much next door to our room. What a difference! The room was much larger and airier, with a large bed with canopy, a sofa and a huge bathroom with free standing bath and separate shower. This room had obviously been more recently decorated and, had we been in this room first I would have rated the rooms as excellent.
Throughout our stay all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was very good and with a reasonable choice (although some items required a supplement). The hotel itself was very easy to find, being just of the A1, but with Room 4 being at the back and Room 1 having triple glazing road noise was not an issue.
Overall we would be quite happy to stay here again but woud try to requestone of the better rooms.

Room Tip: Room 4, a family room, was in need of refurbishment but room 1, the bridal suite(?), was very impres...

Have been wanting to stay at this hotel and were able to take advantage of their spring deal of dinner/bed/breakfast . You will find the host and staff very helpful and see to your every need. Granted the room we stayed in could have done with an update on the decs but it had a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water. Dinner menu catered for all of our needs and the food was very tasty and hot.Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stopped here yesterday for lunch on our way to to Nottingham. The service was great, very friendly staff. I had a risotto which was divine (very rich but loved every mouthful). My partner had pie and chips (said it could have been a bit warmer but tasty all the same). Would definitely recommend as a good place to eat. My partner has previously stayed here on business and said that it was a good place to stay too.

We stayed prior to a short trip up the A1 to Burleigh Park at stupid o'clock in the morning to marshall the wet bit at RatRace's Dirty Weekend. It is hard to find enough words of praise for the two ladies that looked after us so well on arrival and during the evening. Great value for money and they ensured we spent all the money we were entitled to. The rooms were clean and comfy and whilst dinner was a bit 'heated up' the whole meal was fun and good value too, not to say tasty and hot! Thank you x
