The last time we visited the Cuckoo was well over a year ago and it was so bad we didn't return for a long time, until this weekend just gone! We went for Sunday lunch, the staff were very friendly and attentive, we were given a nice, big table in the "snug" area which was a little cold as we were by a window but it was a nice spot. The sharing platter starter was very tasty, in particular the duck pate which you can have as a starter on it's own and I would recommend! We all had Sunday Roast and the flavours were lovely, my pork loin was very tender. Our only criticism would be to serve the gravy on the side, we didn't realise it would be on the plate already and there was quite a lot which some of our party weren't too keen on. The desserts finished things off nicely, be warned the "giant" profiteroles really live up to their name and the trio of desserts definitely needs to be shared. We had 1 sharing starter, 5 main courses, 4 desserts and 8 drinks and the bill as £107 which I think represents pretty good value. Glad to see they have improved things as it's a charming setting, we won't leave it so long to return next time!
