Visited recently for a Friday night meal with my partner, who is veggie (but eats fish).

Good bits; food quick, recently re-decorated, friendly staff/owners, good steak and selection of fish.

Not so good bits; dogs/cats walking throughout the pub makes it feel bit dirty, price was a bit steep for the overall standard of food, the battered cod was very average and seemed like it was bought in, the veg and chips were all just ok.

The menu has too many options on it and the specials board too large. Please just cut the rubbish out and have it all printed on a single page of A4. Not laminated, seems very cheap. Buy some new cutlery and lay some of the tables in advance, its ok to keep some for drinking too.

If the owner went that extra few steps with the food, as they have with the decor this could be a great pub/restaurant.

We visited this Pub today for lunch and since our last visit the Landlord has changed. We had a marvellous meal. All the staff were attentive and there were great SPECIALS which were very reasonably priced - think it was £9.75 for 2 courses.

The garlic mushrooms were the best I have ever tasted - the sauce to die for. I then had the fish and chips. The other members of our party really enjoyed their choices as well.

Please give this place a visit - suppose I shouldn't be telling everyone as we won't be able to get a table next time.

Very impressive pizzas - I had a spicy one and it was just right. The pizza chef (landlord likes to use alot of anchovies and cheese on his pizzas) / Friendly staff - The Butcombe ale is brewed in a neighbouring village (Butcombe!) which is supplied to many pubs in the Bristol area.

There's a skittle alley out back too which you're welcome to use. Great for kids

My family and i have been going to the queens arms for years and we've always thought the food was great, however the current landlords have exceeded standards - we came in on a sunday expecting it to be busy but surprisingly it was quiet! The food we had was simply divine! The meat was beautiful and the gravy outstanding!! We couldn't stay away! We came in again the monday after, i had a pizza which was to die for and my wife had the lasagna which she wanted to take a portion home!! We loved the previous landlords but i take my hat of to the current ones! The queens is now our familys favourite pub! Brilliant service from the whole team to!! See you all very soon!!!!
