“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

Absolutely amazing discovery. We came for Sunday lunch and it was well worth the trip from Bridlington. You will need to book in advance as there are not that many tables but the standard of service and food was very high indeed.

Recommend to all, you will not be disappointed! We hope to get to one of their evening meal sittings during the week sometime soon.

“Such a pleasant place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

My friend and I were very tired after a busy morning and had heard that this cafe was worth visiting. This staff were friendly and welcoming, serving us straight away and equally importantly the food was delicious. I felt very replete after the soup of the day (celeriac and carrot) and yes, a whole sandwich not the usual half (home cooked, thickly cut ham in excellent bread) and my pal really enjoyed her smoked trout pate and toast. The extra toast she needed was happily brought immediately. Another good point - the coffee was excellent and hot. Cafes often fall down on this and serve rather indifferent and warm drinks. Very good value for money too.

“A warm and welcoming feel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

As soon as you step into the Hares Leap you are greeted with a warm welcome and the decoration has a lovely homely feel. Although we were the ones in when we arrived by the time we left 7 more tables had filled up.

The food was cooked to order but this wasn't a problem as we weren't in a rush. When it arrived we were a little disappointed as the our order didn't arrive as expected. We couldn't fault they way the problem was dealt with, we would like to thank the team for their professional and considerate approach.

The food was very tasty and the veggies were fresh and delicious, we had no room for the cakes or scones but maybe next time.

This is somewhere we'd highly recommend venturing out of Scarborough to give this friendly and welcoming place a try.

“Lovely food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

We visited at lunchtime and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Soup was really tasty & spicy, rarebit served with an unusual melon & orange salad, & my partner couldn't speak highly enough of his burger ( and believe me, he's tried a lot of burgers!) I wish we lived close enough to attend one of the special evening events, such as the tapas nights which look really interesting. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.
