“Wonderful Food”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

A very quiet weekday evening in September and only a few people eating but this did not mean the quality of the food was lacking. Everything was superb. The lady of the house was extremely friendly and informative especially about the canal. We even bought to take away some cheese that had been especially made to celebrate 200 years of the canal.

This is a truly great place to eat and relax with good service.

“5 great meals, 1 below par”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

6 adults on a canal boat holiday ate here. Extremely friendly and efficient staff.
The homemade chicken liver pate was superb, a huge portion served with a wonderful onion marmalade, salad and 2 slices of toast with the offer of extra toast if required.
3 had mixed grills which were excellent, a really good fish dish and a great pie but the venison meatballs (crazy site will not let me call them by their proper UK name as it deems it to be a profanity!) were far too herby.

Booked sunday lunch for my family, the food was gorgeous, freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The hospitality was welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Lovely and relaxed with excellent food that all the family loved. Thanks and definatly will be going again.

“hi de hi campers.”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

we only called in for some advice and ended up staying for five days. Tracey the landlady made us feel very welcome. The accomadation was second to none, as was the food in the restaurant. (Try the thai curry they make it as hot and spicey to suit you). we met a lovely couple with their dog Marley who were very friendly. Tracey always puts her heart and soul into making you feel that nothing is to much trouble. Everyone should make a point of staying here its excellent. definately worth 5 star rating and more. we will be going back in october to stay again. Hi De Hi.
