We stayed here in July 2012. It was great. If it was closer to Toronto i would go back for sure. Beautiful beach, wooded lots, camp store, large playground. Very clean washrooms. It is not very private on the sites but this is not wilderness camping. If you don't want to hear kids, don't go here.

Twin shores campground offers a great experience. We camped here in June 2013 early in the camping season.
Our campsite was very private and spacious. The washrooms were clean and hot water was available (pay showers). There was camp store that you could purchase amenities at.
They have a large playground which was great for the children.
The beach is beautiful. If you head about 1km down the beach you can see some amazing sea caves and rocks that have been carved out the the ocean. The sunrise and sunset views from the beach are gorgeous.
Charlottetown, Cavendish and many other PEI attractions are all within driving distance.

...what the other reviews say. My wife and I have camped all over Canada and USA. This is our favorite campground! One hiccup though--the spot I had reserved had been given to someone else. I was a little ticked off, since I had chosen the site specifically to be close to the sea. Fortunately for us (and them) they gave us two sites for one price that were fairly close to the beach.
The beach is fantastic. Even if the water is cold, it's nice to lie on a red slab of rock, sticking out of the sand. My wife is very fair, so she sat further back against the red sandstone cliffs, which afforded her necessary shade.
The camp itself is well-run, super-clean, and appears to attract a wholesome family clientele. Not too far away are some grocery stores and some fresh fish purveyors: oysters, mussels, lobsters--we ate like royalty here--right at the campground!
We dream of returning one day.

A friend and I were tent-camping through New Brunswick and PEI right after Labor Day, and we found this fantastic campground thanks to one of the visitor guides we picked up at the tourism info center. We were a little wary at first because it seemed to be primarily geared towards RVs (nothing wrong with that, but we just didn't want to be in our little tent next to a potentially noisy bunch of RVs). The awesome woman at the front desk (I can't remember her name, but she was excellent!) was completely understanding of our concerns, and, since everyone had cleared out after the holiday, was able to give us the best tent site on property - possibly the best tent site ever. It was tucked away from the rest of the sites and surrounded by woods, though not too far from the rest of the facilities. We had our own private little path down to the gorgeous red sand beach and surprisingly warm (for September, anyway) Gulf of St. Lawrence. It seemed like we had the whole beach to ourselves! I think we saw maybe three other people. We had a wonderful and quiet night, and wished we could have stayed longer. We both said that on the next trip, we're driving straight through NB and staying a week at Twin Shores!

There was also an excellent little general store right on the campground where we picked up a few last-minute items. The pay showers were very clean and reasonably priced. The rate was a little more than we had paid for other campgrounds on our trip, but well worth it. Would definitely recommend!

This was the third year we have camped here and each year I am amazed at how nice and well run this campground is! The private beautiful beach, playgrounds, activities, various site selection (open and wooded), security, laundry, store, cafe, hayrides, tennis courts, soccer fields, and the list goes on. Canada Day fireworks are better than most cities I've been in! If it could be improved, it'd only be with the addition of a splash park/pool area - but who really needs that with the tremendous beach! It'd just be a nice option. It's a big campground with 600 sites but 1/2 of these sites are wooded so those who like privacy can get it - that's me, and it really doesn't feel like a large campground in the woods. They change the toilet seats in all the washrooms a couple times a summer and are cleaned at least twice a day; pay showers. Rates are reasonable at around $40 a day. We booked already for next year.

Our young family first camped here in the 1970's and we have recently returned to tent alongside our daughter and her young family. Many changes have taken place but this campground is like a well run family resort. The beach is one of the island's best but now it has a canteen so you can have an ice cream or buy a shovel and pail. The recreation centre has something happening every evening - from chocolate bar bingo to Karaoke. There is a wonderful playground, an off -leash dog area, coffee shop, grocery, tennis, shuffleboard. This gated campground is such a great place for kids to bike around.
