Unlike some of the other recent reviews, we enjoyed a top shelf experience at Black Duck on July 2, 2014.
NEVER felt rushed. Impeccable service from Michael. Outstanding food- especially the SAUCES! We were using our assorted fresh baked breads to consumme every smidge of the many accompliments and courses. Everything was outstanding and quantities were plentiful!
Yes- there is an Asian element to several dishes but not just an Asian element... It was the first time I had tasted "Japan" since traveling there in the 80's.
There were even several creative elements and supremely fresh tastes that reminded me of The Inn At Little Washington albeit on a much smaller scale.
The only improvement on the experience I could think of would be if the Black Duck bought the liquor store across the street from the it and gave it a paint job like the restaurant's own clean, white aesthetic.
