I stayed here last summer with my mother and son the views are fab so much green the bar was lovely busy but not so much to make it uncomfortable excellent food. This hotel has a lovely old feel to it and the history of the hotel well shown in the photos in the bar.breakfast was lovely and good portion sizes :) The room was comfortable cosey clean but my only thing was no lift ! Dragging up the buggy and bags was a two woman two trips job. The rooms where a bit dated I think the bar and lobby could keep the old charm the rooms could be a bit updated. But over all I enjoyed it something different would I stay again yes

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your thoughtful and kind review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay here. As the oldest hotel in Ireland we strive to keep the charm of the hotel, but I can assure you we take all comments on board, and we would like to thank you for your thoughtful suggestions. Our chef was very pleased to hear you enjoyed our food. Due to the nature of the building we are unable to provide a lift in the main hotel; however our modern lodge across the road provides all modern conveniences for our guests. We hope to see you here again in the not-so-distant future.

Kind regards,
Ciara

Stayed only one night in April 2013.
Our rooms were all clean & comfortable.
The service was excellent. Staff very friendly if you wanted, or discrete if you prefered.
We had a very enjoyable evening meal.

I stayed here midweek on business. It really is set in the most beautiful location, I was lucky to get a room with a balcony that overlooked the golf coarse.
The hotel is a little dated but its clean and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and the shower was amazing. I'll be going back again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony and the higher up the better.

We had our wedding at Woodenbridge a few weeks ago and we were very happy how everything worked out. The location of the hotel is beautiful and it has all the characteristics that you would hope would be in a Wicklow Hotel, warm, friendly, cozy and full of character. We had our Ceremony in the Lodge that over looks the river and since it was raining and the Reception was in the main hotel they provided a shuttle bus to help bring the guests over. The big armchairs, couches and wooden fires in the bar and the reception area created a lovely atmosphere for everyone.

I organised the wedding from Canada and i found the hotel staff to be very helpful throughout the process and on the day itself.

Stayed here for one night on a Saturday. The room cost was €100.00 for one night to include breakfast. Check in was seamless and the staff were very friendly. I expected a nice room for the price we paid and had requested a balcony which we did not get. The room was in need of an upgrade although it was a good size. There was a faint smell of sewerage coming from outside of the room the next morning which was very off putting. For €100.00 I would have expected a much better quality room and a bigger bed than the small double we got.
The food in the restaurant was very poor and extremely expensive for what we ordered. The wine was also overpriced. I have seen similar low quality wine for half the price in other establishments. The starter was very nice as was the dessert, but we were really not happy with the main course. (pork & Steak) I asked for sauce on the side and i received a congealed portion of what seemed like packaged gravy. The meat (both steak and pork) was fatty and very bad quality. Again for the price I was really disappointed.

The bar is quite nice here, and I could not fault the staff at all. very friendly particularly our waiter.

Stay here for one night (attending wedding in Ballybeg), it is a very dated hotel. Really needs a lift!
The big bonus is their staff, excellent. Was very busy when we were there, so they must be doing something right

Dear guest,
Thanks for your review and I’m glad you found the service so good. I’m sorry you found parts of the hotel dated, and while it is the oldest hotel in Ireland, we do have a maintenance programme in place, and as much as possible we change curtains, carpets etc. This month alone we have changed the curtains in the restaurant and five rooms.
Thanks again for your comments and hope to see you again sometime.
Kind regards,
Gerard O Brien.

Our daughter's wedding took place here recently. It was lovely - such a friendly place in a beautiful setting. The room where the ceremony took place was beautifully decorated and had a wonderful view, and the function room for the meal and dancing was gorgeous, beautifully decorated. The service was superb and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a wedding. It is excellent value and we had a wonderful experience. It is a hotel to visit if you are looking for a genuine, welcoming experience with a hint of old-style charm.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room in the hotel itself. It was cosy with all amenities and very quiet.
