“A very special place to visit.”

The best sea food restaurant in the southeast. Hidden away in the beautiful village of Carne. Excellent food and service. Family owned and they work very hard to deliver quality fresh food.

“Good food. Good service. Overpriced.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

No major complaints here. Had rack of lamb. Perfectly cooked as asked even though rare is not on offer on the menu.
Veg was a bit 90s and does not seem to change from my reading of other reviews however it was fine.
The night we went was midweek so atmosphere was not the best however the barman was good fun and chatty so thanks Kevin.

Pricewise, quite expensive given the value to be had in Ireland at the moment eating out.

Would I go back? Possibly but i would not travel for it.

“A Festival tradition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

To console ourselves when our annual visit to Wexford Festival Opera comes to an end (we inevitably feel a little sad that all that musical delight is over for another year) we finish off at The Lobster Pot before taking the Rosslare ferry back to Pembroke. This year was no exception and once again we enjoyed the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere of this highly traditional inn. Having sworn in previous years not to have starters because the main course is always so generously sized, we stuck to our principles for once and only had the one course. The fish pie was still as scrumptious as we remembered it and the welcome as warm as ever. The Manageress had a very pleasant manner, was extremely courteous and helpful and ensured swift service so that we did not miss the ferry.

“What an Irish pub should be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

I forget how many times we've been to the Lobster Pot for lunch- it's a fixture during our annual visit to the Wexford Festival after a bracing walk on the nearby beaches - but we've never been disappointed by the food, the comforting fires, the atmosphere and the friendly and halpful service. Our 2012 visit was yet another experience to savour and remember with pleasure.

“Long Weekend Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

We arrived to Carne on a Friday afternoon. We dropped into the Lobster pot for coffee. We came back that evening and had the most delicious meal. It was quite maybe as it was early evening. The following night we booked a table for a later time. We had a starter each and shared a seafood platter. It was absolutely divine. The wine the atmosphere the staff everything was fantastic. A true little gem
