“overnight stay”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

As we were travelling on to East Clare, we decided to stay overnight at the Padua B & B and also to stay overnight on our return before catching the early morning ferry. It was ideally situated just a few minutes from the Rosslare port and we had a very warm welcome from Nicola & Richard who have very recently taken over the B & B from Helen & Willie. Our room and ensuite were spotless and extremely comfortable with little touches such as hand lotion and matching handwash. There was a great selection of food for breakfast from full English down to fresh fruit and yoghurts. The bread was to die for.

On our return trip, we purchased some snacks to eat in the B & B and Helen set a table for us in the dining room and Richard made us a pot of tea plus good quality biscuits. This service was above and beyond what we might have expected for the cost of staying there. Because we needed to leave early in the morning, breakfast was provided at just the right time to allow us to get to the ferry with time to spare.

We would certainly visit Padua again and woiuld recommend it to anyone travelling through Southern Ireland.

Room Tip: We were given the downstairs bedroom because it had a shower suitable for my husband who is disable...

This B&B is fine for an overnight stop when arriving in Ireland on the ferry from Fishguard. It is very close to the port on a very busy road. There is nothing nearby in the way of good restuarants, only a few poor pubs. The rooms were small and there was a lot of traffic noise.

Room Tip: If you don't arrive late as we did you would do better to drive on to Waterford.

We stayed at Padua on May 29 for one night prior to the ferry next morning. Perfect location with Helen & Willie being excellent hosts. Warm welcome into a lovely room with all you would want for a longer stay and seemed a shame to only be there overnight. Ample dinner choices nearby.
Excellent breakfast next morning served nice and early so no pressure to be on time for the ferry.
We would recommend Padua to anyone as over our 6 week trip, we paid a lot more for places nowhere near this standard.

Helen and William made us very welcome. Their bed and breakfast is conveniently located very close to the Rosslare Harbour.

Our room was immaculately clean and tidy with a very nice ensuite. We had a brilliant TV, and the bed was very comfortable, just right for our last night in Ireland.

Breakfast was made early as Helen understood the need for catching the ferry.

We recently stayed at Padua overnight prior to catching the morning ferry from Rosslare. The property was easy to find, about a five minute drive from the ferry terminal. We were greeted by our host Willie who we found out later was responsible (along with his partner Helen) for the quality renovations that have been undertaken and shown to our room, with spacious ensuite, at the back of the house which was impeccably presented. Willie also assisted us with suggestions and directions to local eateries a short drive away for our evening meal. (We ate at the Chinese restaurant near the beach on the Rosslare Strand prior to taking a walk along the beach in the twilight- an enjoyable final experience of Ireland where we chatted with local fishermen who shared with us their first catch and their wonderfully ironic sense of humour)
After a very comfortable nights rest we were greeted by the friendly and very hospitable Helen who offered a choice of light or full cooked breakfast, including gluten free options meeting my dietary requirements. (Helen has an excellent understanding of the gluten free diet as a family member also requires this diet). We would strongly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a comfortable nights rest, a hearty (or light) breakfast served by friendly and hospitable Irish hosts prior to boarding the ferry to Wales.

Room Tip: Room at the back of property was very quiet and comfortable.

We stayed in the family room which was really spacious and comfortable. The ensuite was a good size and the beds comfy.
Helen and Willie made us really welcome and were very accommodating of the kids. Helen gave us some great suggestions on where to eat and what to do around the area.
Breakfast was beautiful and very filling. We all enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Padua B&B to others.

We stayed at the Padua before catching the morning ferry to Pembroke recently and were so impressed we decided to stay again on the evening of our return to Rosslare. The accommodation is excellent with very tasteful decor and everything is well presented and very clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and the en-suites are excellent with big fluffy white towels and nice lighting. The wonderful cooked breakfast is served at any time one wishes and is huge!. Add to this the friendliness of Helen and Willie and you could not ask for a better 'overnighter' anywhere. We will definitely stay there again.
