O'Learys Farm Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #10 of 16 Rosslare B&B and Inns
Reviewed December 21, 2012

We spent here our first and last night in Ireland during our journey in october 2012 and our choice of BB couldn't have been better; we were looking for a quiet place off the beaten track to unwind from a short stay in London and O'Leary farm fully met our expectations.
Ms Phil , the owner, was very welcoming , offered us a nice hot cup of tea and cake on arrival and introduced us to a double room facing the sea with a really huge, spotlessly clean bathroom.
We could see from our windows different breeds of sheep and (unusual for us) belted cows.
Full irish breakfast the next morning was a treat.
Returned to O'Leary the day before our ferry sailing back to UK and Phil let us walk around the farm , explaining us how she cares about her sheep, especially the young sick ones; also had a nice walk to the beach (beware: the trail could be very muddy)
We will recommend this BB to all our friends

On a recent trip to Ireland we stayed at Phil and Gabriele's O'Leary Farm Bed & Breakfast. As a fully functioning sheep and cattle farm this B&B was everything we had hoped for. What a setting! The farm is located on the shoreline of the Irish Sea south of Wexford. There is private access to the beach with spectacular views from our bedroom. The accommodations were very clean and modern and the food was second to none. Philomena and Gabriel are very generous hosts who understand the area and provide Ireland's most valuable resource, unmatched kindness and hospitality. The B&B is a little off the beaten path but for anyone who wants to see the real Ireland this is the place to go.

Room Tip: Front of the house is provides sunrise over the Irish Sea.

O Learys is so handy for the ferry port. We spent a week in Connemara in September 2012 and as the ferry times are a tad anitsocial we decided to book OLearys for one night either end of our holiday. We already knew how good it was as we had stayed in 2009. Philomena and Gabriel are wonderful hosts and pay great attention to detail. The rooms are really comfy and well equipped, tea and cake is offered on arrival, gorgeous breakfasts, lovely quiet surroundings. We always feel welcome and relaxed when we are there and would never consider staying anywhere else!

Stayed at O'Learys B&B for one night, Mrs. O'Leary was very pleasant and helpful, but sadly our room was disappointing in particular the ensuite facilitates. The shower door wasn't clean, hairs and soap scum on the shower door that wasn't cleaned from the previous occupants. The ensuite needed to be updated badly. However breakfast was lovely.

Oleary's is a great place to stay. My wife and I loved walking down the trail to the beautiful beach and waking up each morning the sounds of the farm. Our hosts were wonderful and I had the best Raspberry jam I have ever eaten. We will come back here when we go to Ireland again and I am sure we would be welcomed back to the farm. Thanks so much for making the end of our trip fantastic!

Similarly to many other reviewers, we stayed at O' Learys farm the night before catching a ferry back to the UK. It was one of the few places available which would accept dogs staying in the room with us overnight.
The B&B was spectaculary sighted with beautiful views over Rosslare Bay. The rooms were spotless and we were welcomed by Phil on arrival with tea and home-made cake. Breakfast next morning was excellent, fresh and cooked to order.
Next time I would definitely plan to stay at least an extra night and make the most of the local area.

We stayed here for one night (before catching the ferry back to Fishguard the next morning), but I ended up wishing we'd extended our stay. The Farm has an amazing view of the coast, which we were lucky enough to face from our room. The room was also very comfortable (great bed, enormous bathroom, and *fantastic* shower), and it looked like there were some good seafood restaurants in the local area (the B&B keeps a collection of menus). We arrived late and opted for a nearby inn, which served decent pub grub. The breakfast (from 6.30am on request) is very tasty and great for ferry-catchers. NB Our Sat Nav insisted it was 20min from the B&B to Rosslare Harbour, but it is genuinely 9minutes!
