“Have stayed here before but the service is really terrible”

I have stayed here a few times for work but on my most recent visit the service was really bad. The continental breakfast conisisted of Coco Pops or Corn Flakes and burnt toast. The hotel istelf could be lovely but the standards are poor with dirty carpets, poor choice for breakfast, poor service and the most unfriendly staff I've come across

Myself and 3 girlfiends stayed in this hotel and had a fantastic stay. When booking we wanted two twin rooms however they said they had only 1 twin room left, so we accepted one twin room and one double. When we arrived, they had re-arrnaged the rooms so that the bed in the double room had been separated into two, giving us the two twin rooms we had initially asked for. We were impressed not only with this, but we also managed to be given a room with a connecting door so we could move between the rooms easily. We stayed on a Saturday night meaning the disco bar was in operation upstairs. It was clearly audible from our room, however we didn't mind as we were planning on going to the bar! When we adjourned to our rooms after the club finished, there was no further noise so all had a peaceful sleep. The breakfast the next morning was excellent, you helped yourself to cereal, yoghurt, tea/coffee and juice and were served with a cooked breakfast and toast. We found the staff to be very courteous and the rooms were of decent size with great en-suite facilities. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay on the weekend, try asking for a room on the lowest floor to minimise noise, otherwise, if you are there for a fun weekend/party, I'd recommend.

I stayed in the Docks hotel on a Saturday night in June with my partner. The rooms are tidy and clean, but as it was a Saturday night there was a late bar 2 floors above us. There is no soundproofing in the rooms which made it impossible to sleep - It was as if the bed was on the dance floor. Also the lift to the bedrooms is located just off the dance floor in the bar which meant that anyone in the bar had access to be bedrooms. During the night we had knocking on our bedroom door by a member of the travelling community. Approx half an hour later the door to our room opened and 4 women walked in with a key!!! When we confronted the hotel manager she explained that a key had gone missing and they had not got around to replacing it. We left the hotel immediately and on the way out the hotel manager informed us that she had called around and there were no available rooms in the area. This was a lie, the closest hotel to the Docks had a room along with another in the area. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE, I hate to think of what would have happened if we had not been in the room and had left our valuables behind, or if I had have been in the room alone without my boyfriend as the hotel door did not lock from the inside. I found the staff very rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. Avoid at all costs.......

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel no matter how good the deal may r

Myself and my wife absoloutely loved this hotel. Stayed a couple of weeks back for a weekend away. Were told by a very friendly receptionist that there was a late bar and nightclub fri and sat until 2.am and could be a bit noisy but we didnt hear a thing as they accomodated us to a quite room. When we arrived the rooms were in immaculate condition and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had a fantastic room with a great view of the river. The food was amazing and well priced and also the smoking area/ balcony had a great view of the river and great to sit out on with a coffee or beer. The service was great and the staff were genuinely friendly with great service. Couldnt have been any nicer. The nightclub had a great D.J and a brilliant atmosphere. Exactly what was needed for a break away from the kids :) Definetly recommending Docks Hotel to our friends and family

Room Tip: Ask for a room suite. No extra cost :)

Myself and my Husband and 2 other couples stayed at the docks for a weekend getaway from the kids and had a really great weekend we all stayed for Fri - Mon and had an excellent time. the sunday was the quite night and was lovely to relax before we went home friday and saturday night were both late with djs playing but we didnt mind as we were away to have a good time prob not suitable for the older or quiter couple. We all found the staff extremely helpful and the rooms even if a liitle unsual to be underneath were very impressive with large comfy beds and state of the art bathrooms. the view was non existent from our room but our friends had a room overlooking the river which was huge so we will be requesting this room upon our return :) the food was really nice with a good selection and priced very well for the large portions i had pasta and it was fab while my husband had fish and chips which was fresh cod!!! not seen much these days!! overall our experience was great and would efinitely go back

This place needs to be your cup of tea...

The rooms are wonky... on a lower level with small windows with the view of the grass bank of the parking lot above. Sort of strange...

But, the room had an interesting decor, was fairly large for an average hotel room in Ireland, and the bathroom was vast and excellent.

The high point? The weekend nightclub upstairs. Yes, we did hear the sound of the bass in the room, but as we planned on going upstairs to enjoy the club, it wasn't a bother to us.

The club was terrific. A good crowd, no sloppy drunken teenagers, a great dj, and a really fantastic back deck with heated seating and a great view of the river. Worth it just to sit there and enjoy a drink (or three).

If you're looking for a fun place for the weekend, it a reasonable, clean place with to have a little fun.

I have mix feelings about this place, the two girls that where there help us out with all our problems. the first been that our room was very cold as the radiator was broken. they helped us move to a better room and even got another electric radiator to make sure we had enough heat.

when we returned that night we where greeted by two big bouncers. he said. "its a fiver in Mate" I said we where staying in the hotel and he let us in. the full top floor was booming out with Drum and Bass. as we walked to our room we wondered if it would get any quieter as we got further away. i'm afraid it didn't. we had to listen to the noise until the early hours.
