“Beware the cranking Pipes”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for 1 night. I found the rooms quite small and cramped. Bathroom was very tired with ceiling paint inside the shower coming off in chunks. When using the shower the pipes made tremendous banging that would wake the dead but in saying that the water pressure was very good.
Dined in the bar- Seafood chowder was very good as was ceaser salad. Service a little slow but overall a good experience dining.
Would stop again for food but not to stay the quality of the rooms for the room rates would put me off

I lived in New Ross for some years and always liked this hotel, and it's now a pleasure to stay here as a visitor. It's friendly, clean, comfortable and efficient. Our room was quiet, spacious and well furnished. The Spa and swimming pool are good. So are the breakfasts. We had one dinner in the hotel and were most impressed. There was a wedding for nearly two hundred people in the hotel, yet they managed to continue to provide full service in the public dining room and serve a very good three course meal without delay.

The hotel is set in pleasant gardens. The town centre is a few minutes walk away along a busy main road.

Just spent a wedding weekend there. The venue and grounds are lovely, the weather definately helped with this :).

Rooms are good, bathrooms bit outdated needs a new shower curtain and a grime clean on the sides of the bath, towels have been in the bleach wash one too many times so greyish white in colour...

As a resident you still had to pay 25 euro to use the spa hmmmmm rip off

no wifi in the bedrooms but everywhere else in hotel

apart from the little things overall experience was good.

Stayed over with two friends, very enjoyable night, had a lovely meal in the restaurant , the weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside and have a few drinks. It is a really lovely hotel and i would have no problem recommending it. Even though I only live a few miles outside of town, it was well worth staying over, Very reasonably priced

I'm a local but eat there regularly and many friends have stayed there when we couldn't accommodate them with only praise for the place. Food is very good, not exotic, the very best of Irish produce, well presented and delicious. The leisure centre is very good also with very helpful staff, a decent pool and well stocked gym. The library bar is nice, it has the feel of a library of one of the old 'big houses' which the Brandon House was before becoming a hotel itself. The atmosphere is relaxed but with a reassuring light touch of formality on the part of the staff. The Hook of Wexford is nearby, ten minutes drive with at least a half dozen beachs etc and the town of New Ross has a lovely waterfront with the tallship 'Dunbrody' and its excellent cafe etc nearby. as you can gather i'm a supporter, but with good reason.

Room Tip: Front if possible

Book a two night stay here, with some treatments in the Solas Croi Spa for my girlfriend and I. Everything was absolutely perfect, the staff in both the hotel and the spa were lovely.

the food in the restaurant was excellent, the staff were lovely and the wine was some of the best i have ever drank. all surprisingly reasonable too.
just a note, its a fixed price for three courses, so if you skip one there is no discount, however its a very very reasonable price for the quality of the food so no complaints here.

full use of the hotel leisure facilities are included.

we had late appointments in the spa on Saturday, so never got to use the thermal suites, but were told we could come back the next day. which we did. nice and relaxing to alternate between sauna and hot tub.

excellent stay, would go back again.

We were allocated a large room with all the facility you would expect in a 4 star hotel on the ground floor. The view from our room was not great as in looked inwards and faced the swimming pool and leisure centre, the rooms on the other side of the corridor had superb views over looking the country side and the beautiful hotel garden. The excellent buffet breakfast was freshly cooked, and although the dinning room was very busy, all the guests were well look after.
All of the 70th birthday party guests had nothing but praise for the staff in the ballroom, and
A particular thanks should go to night residents bar staff who looked after us until 5 a.m.
On the day of our departure we had to leave the hotel to catch the ferry by 6 15 a.m , and a special thank you to night staff Jack for the freshly made toast and continental breakfast he served us in the lobby at 6.am

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side have great views
