The Irish Agricultural Museum calls itself one of Ireland"s best kept secrets but hopefully, the secret is out, as it is definitely well worth a visit. There is something to interest everyone of all age groups and we particularly enjoyed the exhibition of restored farm machinery and The Great Famine Exhibition. The Peacock Tearoom is a great place for a nice snack and a cuppa after the museum visit and it is very easy to spend a couple of hours looking around this fascinating collection

“Not to miss”

A fantastic museum in an incredible setting. We spent the whole day here, unheard of for us. The morning was spent wandering the grounds and admiring the views. Lunch was in the Museum cafe where we were welcomed by the friendly staff and a huge log burner. The afternoon was spent wandering the vast number of artefacts and reading up on some of Ireland's sad history at the time of the famine. Do not be put off by the word agriculture, the museum illustrates all aspects of rural Ireland. An excellent day out - well worth a visit.
