“Loose yourself in Tully...”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

The map they give you to walk around the place had been photocopied too many times and was ilegible. I didnt get back for 3 days...it was ment to take an hour. Tea rooms not great. Coffee was poor. All in all....a bit of a waste. And similar to most attractions in Ireland....way too expensive at €20 odd quid for a family to basically walk around a field.

“Gothic Pastoral charm..............;”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Tullynally Castle is well worth a visit, being located in the Irish Midlands, there is a real feeling of being away from it all. The tea rooms are indeed charming and the food is excellent. The gardens are fantastic and the walk by the river is something else. The place is a kind of cross between Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden and an outdoor set for a Mozart opera. Some lovely well kept cats running around the place too!

“Great gardens, but the tearoom is the real attraction.”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

Tullynally gardens are always worth a visit, and the tearoom was always nice. However, there is a new team in charge of the tearoom, and it is superb.
Located in the stableyard, the tearooms are cosy in a higgeldy-piggeldy kind of way, with a lovely stove keeping the place really comfortable. The food is gorgeous; home-made cakes, quiches, scones etc, with lovely fresh salads.
The tearoom is a place to go as a destination in itself, even if you're not interested in the superb gardens. While away a pleasant hour in comfort, have a read of the papers and enjoy lots of delicious food, tea and coffee.
Really nice ambience, lovely friendly staff, and very comfortable; this is as far from your typical coffee shop selling factory-made buns as it is possible to get.
Recommended, without reservation. Loved it!

“Must Visit While In Mullingar”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

Tullynally Castle & Gardens is a beautiful experience located close to Castlepollard about ten minutes from Mullingar. The Castle and coffee shop offers an old world charm with some of the best cakes and tea. The gardens are kept naturally a great location for pictures and walks along the hidden lakes. Children seem to love the grounds and actives offered with the map and a nice surprise when finding the lama's
See website for upcoming events I had the pleasure of seeing some hot air balloons while at the castle.
