Viking Hotel Waterford
Ranked #9 of 12 Hotels in Waterford

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. Arrived at the hotel and thought there was little in the way of parking, then discovered that there was ample parking behind the hotel. Just in case anyone is wondering where it is located. Go past McDonalds, straight through the roundabout, when you get to Waterford Crystal, keep going for about 1 mile and it is on the left. Got into the hotel and the receptionist was very friendly, informing us of dinner; breakfast times, Etc. Checked in and made our way up to our double room on the second floor, the room/bathroom was very clean. The bathroom consisted of all the amenities you could need and if you forget anything, they will provide you with it at reception free of charge. There are lots of channels on T.V, including Movie channels. We did request a double/smoking room but received a non smoking room with two single beds pushed together, but it was fine. The beds were as you would expect in any Hotel (Not as comfortable as your own). There was a drinks machine in the hall way, which was handy. We went down for dinner the first night. There was a good choice of three courses including some kind of Sorbet thing in between starter and main course. I had Angus Beef fillet, I requested medium rare but received rare, it tasted nice, so i didnt complain. The wine was also very good!!!!. Maids came when we were out the next day and the room looked spotless again. The breakfast was good also, good selection of fry/pastry/cereal etc. This hotel does not have a leisure centre but you could visit a local leisure centre instead (free of charge) Overall it was very good and we will consider this hotel again.

Stayed in the Ramada Viking for 2 nights and I could not be more pleased. This is an outstanding hotel! Very modern from the lobby to the rooms. Rooms are spacious and the showers are awesome, even futuristic! Every member of the staff was so very helpful and would go out of their way to accommodate us or make our stay more enjoyable. The breakfasts are out of this world! Huge spread, so delicious, and again, the staff would do anything to be of help. The bar was very open and friendly, a great place to gaze out the huge windows and plan the rest of your trip in Ireland while knocking back a few pints. Or, even a cappuccino if you prefer, because they have an espresso machine right there! The parking was plentiful as well and the Ramada is very easy to find.

Bottom line this is a great place and I loved my stay here. I would definitely stay in the Ramada Viking again. Well done.

Myself and my partner stayed here for two nights and found everything to be excellent. This is not a 5 star hotel, but the reception, food and customer service were of that standard. It is not the first time we`ve been to Waterford and didnt mind the 3/4 minute journey by taxi into town - its only €6. The city itself has everything needed to meet all requirements of any traveller.
I would recommend this hotel highly.

I stayed here with my boyfriend over the last weekend in April and it was really good. I booked last minute on the phone and wasn't expecting much but the room was huge, the beds equally so and really comfortable. We ate in the bar and it was lovely but went down town for the second night. Bar was very quiet.

The staff were friendly and professional and I met the manager in the lift and he was really friendly and helpful and he grew up near where I live. The room gave great value at €89 per night for the room and we'll be back. There were movie channels but no guide to see what was on - we were given a newspaper at reception though.

Don't miss breakfast we did on the first day but made up for it on the second morning. The buffet is huge. It's a pity the hotel is a €10 taxi fare from town but the receptionist said that a bus route is coming. That'll save the pocket if it happens, good old CIE!!

I'd say it's good for business trips overnight and for a weekend break out of the city centre cos it's quiet.
