Tower Hotel Waterford

This is my second stay in the Tower hotel, our group varied in ages. The staff were friendly, the restaurant menu and standard of food was great. The hotel rooms were really hot (which is great in this cold weather) and spotless clean. Also good location. Would definitely recommend this hotel and in addition to above it was great value for money.

My boyfriend & I decided to book a room in the Tower hotel as it looked and sounded great when we logged on to the official site online. We got a deal which we were happy about, one night stay including breakfast & a house bottle of wine in the room on arrival. When we arrived we checked in & went up to our room. We stayed in room 305. It was clean but the pillows were very uncomfortable they were lumpy. The linen was not crisp as promised & the duvet was very shabby. Our bottle of wine was not in our room on arrival & we had to ring down to reception to have it brought up to the room along with 2 extra pillows. The receptionist didn't sound very friendly. When we tasted the wine it was horrible, it tasted very cheap. We couldn't drink it. The bedside lockers needed repairing & the ceiling needed some plaster work. When we arrived to the restaurant the snobby waiter asked us if we were residents we stated that we were & he asked us our room number, we felt like he didn't believe us. He then showed us to a table, the waitress was pleasant but the menu was awful, the food wasn't fantastic either. Overall I'd rate this hotel 5/10 & definitely would not recommend it to anyone if you like your comfort in the bedroom & a decent meal..

My wife and I stayed here recently and got a great deal on their web site. The hotel is in a good location and has good facilities but the staff, with 1 or 2 exceptions, were not very friendly. We weren't given a 4 star welcome on arrival or thanked on departure, maybe it was because we were not paying the top rate that we got the - cheers n gud luck treatment

When travelling with a larger group of extended family and friends it can be a stressful experience, but not in this case. There were 32 of us staying in the Tower Hotel last weekend and we were looked after so well by the friendly staff, they couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recomend this hotel to get away to relax and unwind., the atmosphere is excellent.. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable!!

While it is not always the hotels fault, allowing a group of young adults to party well into the small hours - actually it was getting into the medium and late morning hours before the party stopped, is simply not acceptable. 3 phone calls to reception in vain. There is an old part to this hotel and a new part, if you value sleep, do not accept accommodation in the old part. Even just walking on the floor causes squeaks that can be heard everywhere in the old part of the hotel. And somewhere in the hotel there are some heavy doors that when they bang shut my bedroom door actually rattled. The banging of doors and partying abated at about 5.30am. But this is the second time I have been kept awake in this hotel for a similar reason. I specified a top floor room this time in the hope that I would not then hear every footfall from above, but did not anticipate the party going on underneath.

I ordered room service food, it was quite poor and bore little resemblance to what I ordered from the menu. Leek and saffron sauce turned out to be some uncle Bens chilly sauce, not unpleasant but showing a lack of care. Breakfast was OK, nothing special, most of the “hot food” was cold or just warm and there was a limited selection. At checkout, above mentioned young adults were congregating in reception in their pyjamas, standing around chatting; it set a poor impression for a hotel that could do better.

The hotel is central, the new rooms are nice, the old rooms are tired and well “old” but they are clean. The phone was broken but everything else worked. The manager listened to my complaints, but he will not have to hear any more of my complaints as I will never darken their door again.

Stayed with my wife and two small kids, Staff went above and beyond call of duty,
Kids had a ball in the swimming pool, food was good quality and reasonably priced. Stayed in very large family room. Will definitely return again. Overall good value for money.
