This is a fantastic deal. I am just recently back from a weekend stay in waterford lodges( a different deal I purchased before xmas) and they are exactly as seen above. The island is so private and the castle is fab. Staying in the well kept lodges was great as there were 4 of us and we had loads of space. We had the wonderful experience of looking out our back window Saturday morning to three deer while having our breakfast. Amazing... The little ferry over and back to the island is a whole new experience and goes when cars are there ,so waiting is not an issue. The lodges were so clean and warm, with a blazing gas fire awaiting us upon arrival. Overall,I must say it was a brillient weekend, with tramore beach close by,a yummy chinese only minutes away and a shopping complex to pick up any essentials. The fact the castle, golf course and lodges are the only thing on the island make it that bit more special and an experience not to be missed.

spend one night here on their 'Kings and Queens' special offer, which
included one nights B & B, bottle of wine in the room and an evening meal. It was a little on the expensive side, but WELL worth it for a really lovely experience. Access to the island is via ferry, and the castle is located in lovely woodland (which I must admit we didn't venture out to explore), and our room was upgraded from the standard I had booked to a beautiful one overlooking the front entrance of the castle - the floor space was larger than the footprint of my semi-de house, there were painted flowers on the procelin in the loo and best of all, a four poster bed. Other posters have written about the quality of the food so I won't dwell on it, only to comment that this was probably the best meal I have yet experienced and the dining room itselrf was lovely, wainscotted walls, plastered ceiling and a piano for ambience. It is worth noting that the hotel dining policy states that they prefer gentlemen to wear jackets but as we were not aware of this beforehand my companion was not suitably equiped. However it was never an issue and he was not made to feel out of place - if (WHEN) we go again we will bear this in mind.

My sister got married in Waterford Castle and they booked the entire castle for the weekend so we were literally "Kings & Queens of the castle" for the weekend and what a wonderful experience it was. They have maintained the castle and the era beautifully from the stunning furniture in the bedrooms to the old stand alone baths in the en suites to the huge open fire and stone walls in the lobby area. The food was absolutely fantastic for both the wedding meal, the meal the evening after and breakfast on both mornings. The care and attention received from the staff was second to none. Getting on the ferry to this fabulous hideaway castle is definately something to experience. Highly recommended, can't wait to go back.

I am just back from 2nights in Waterford Castle and I just loved every minute! The hotel was cosy and homely and has a very relaxing atmosphere, just what everyone needs to relax and unwind.
The food in the hotel was fantastic we ate both in the restaurant and bar. We also went to the club house at the golf course (to watch the football) we had a snack here which was nice and the drink is much cheaper than in the castle!!

All in all the castle is a must for anymore who likes to treat themselves to a little luxury now and again. The hotel, room, bath (amazing) views, walks everything was just fantastic!

We spent a recent weekend in Waterford Castle. Located on an island and requiring a car ferry to get there gives it a special ambience. We had a very dinner there which was excellent in every way and must be in the running for a Michelin star soon.
The castle is a nice size; not too big, not too small and has some scenic walks around it.
Well worth a visit.
