“sparkling”

Good guided tour - educational. No heavy sales pitch. Reasonable price for the experience. We did the tour on a bank holiday so there was only a skeleton staff of blowers and cutters but still well worth the time

“Beautiful crystal”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Yes the factory is set up for the tourism industry - as so many places all around the world are, but it is still enjoyable. Our guide, Natalie, was excellent. It was so interesting watching and learning about the process - even if lots of it is now made in Poland or wherever. (Have you been into a pub or on an Irish ferry lately - lots of their staff too are Polish). I managed to purchase a beautiful seahorse Christmas decortation at 50% off, so there is still a bargain to be had. Mary in the shop was also very helpful.

“'The Glass'”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Such was the common name for the factory producing waterford crystal and their showroom was a very fine building on the Cork Road.Over the past few years the Showroom has been moved into the heart of the city, opposite the bishop's palace and the Town Hall. There's plenty of parking if one follows the road around by the tower hotel, first right and then a quick left and the car park is there.
The Showrooms are very well laid out and the whole range of glass can be viewed whether you want the traditional cutting or the more modern John Rocha designs. The craftmanship displayed is superb and there are a number of trophy one off designs. If you want a small souvenir there are items to suit your pocket but of course you may buy an entire table setting if you wish!
There's a small but well stocked cafe on site and one can take a tour which enables you to undestand exactly how these minor (and major!) glass miracles are achieved.
You are in the heart of georgian and viking Waterford in this area and should you wish a visit to the medieval museum or reginald's tower will add to the day's enjoyment.
I was so sorry to see the old showrooms go but in the new one, waterford crystal has a worthy successor -and the staff retain their traditional friendly professional attitudes!

“Amazing”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

We actually were not planning on making the Waterford Crystal tour a priority but ended up getting into Waterford in time for the last tour of the day. We were so very glad we made it! It was amazing. Such a wonderful tour and an amazing staff.
