Lovely if you have loads of money to spend in here (although some items are cheaper).

We went to the Waterford Crystal factory and were amazed!!!
After going to both Jamison and Guinness this tour by far was more interesting…
This was not a ‘museum’ walk through… this was literally a tour right down the middle of their assembly line!
Not behind glass wall or far away from this skilled craftsmen, rather within inches of them working!
From the molds, to blowing glass, cooling, grinding, carving polishing, this was a walk down the assembly line.
**and if they ask if you want to break something… be the first to raise your hand!!!***
As you go through the tour and get to the inspection station, any pieces that are rejected they put on a table… and let visitors BREAK CRYSTAL!!!
Your tour guide will hand you a piece of crystal and some safety glasses, and you get to drop the crystal into a big box of other rejected pieces… ok it is not like you get to throw it against a wall, but where else do you get to break crystal and not get in trouble?!
As you walk down the line watching these craftsmen grind, carve, polish these pieces they will even stop and show you what they are doing.
And they don’t really hide anything!!! There were pieces of crystal for the Queens Jubilee, countless celebrity pieces, trophies, and they tell you what each one is!
If you go to Waterford, don’t miss this tour!
Plus the café has some AMAZING pastries!!!
Enjoy…

Wonderful experience!
Seeing such skilled craftsmen at work is a pleasure to behold.
Welcoming, friendly experience with real warmth and the human touch - my 8 year old was thrilled.

The glass blowers are highly skilled and take a real pride in their work - I wanted to take up glass blowing myself by the end of the tour!

It is interesting that they continue to call it Waterford, when it is made in Eastern Europe by someone else. It is a more than a little ironical why Americans who come from a country that doesn't make much of anything anymore would come to Waterford to tour a plant that doesn't make anything. The crystal is beautiful.

The Waterford crystal showrooms is fully worth a visit for the sheer pleasure of seeing the process of production of some spectacular items and seeing master craftsmen at work. So sad to think the the majority of Waterford branded items are now manufactured overseas after the sudden closure of the factory there.
