I found the food lovely with just the right amount of portions, but it was quite expensive a toasted sandwich and chips was 13 euro, and a hot chocolate worked out at 3euro once you asked form marshmallows( served in a small mug) the menu is set it gives no option to create your own sandwich. On the plus side it was very tasty and I went away satisfied but its not a place I could afford to go everyday.

The Bishop's Palace cafe is located in the Map Room of a restored 18th century Bishop's Palace. Great menu for brunch or lunch with something a little different from the norm, good value as well. Be sure to actually visit the palace itself while you're there, well worth the effort.

Been here a few times on visits to Waterford and their lunch menu is really nice, varied with something for everyone but everything is nicely homemade with quality ingredients. Staff are friendly and the place is clean. Great historic building as well so has a lovely atmosphere.

Very recently opened opposite Waterford Crystal and behind Christ Church Cathedral.

Very good value and excellent quality food. Fast and good service. fully recommended. Parking a problem as it is in Waterford with demon parking attendants giving tickets like confetti is the only downside

We were a group of 30 people who visited the Bishop's Palace Cafe in Waterford for lunch during a tour of the city. We couldn't have picked a better venue. It's bright, airy with a wonderful ambience because of its location in the former Bishop's Palace directly opposite the new Waterford Crystal show rooms in the centre of time. There is very good parking close by directly behind the Waterford Crystal Centre.

The group were fullsome in their praise of our meal. I chose the Dunmore Fish Cakes with salad and french fries followed by chocolate cake which were all incredibly good. Others had quiche or chicken and some had a smoked salmon dish.

We were extremely late arriving at the cafe and then arrived in a piecemeal fashion rather than all at once which would be a major challenge for any restaurant. In spite of this, the food was superb and the staff were extremely accommodating. They gave us a warm welcome which was to be commended. We will definitely go back and recommend it highly to others. If you are looking for something a little bit different with character, this is the place for you. There is plenty of space in the restaurant so you don't feel that you are jammed up against the next person.
