“Love it every time”
Reviewed October 2, 2013 via mobile

I have visited Sligo twice and been to Donaghys twice and have rated both as two of my favourite meals. Appetisers are brilliant. Crab portabello mushroom first time and mussels second time. Unreal!
Had to have the steak and chips each time and they were incredible. Always left incredibly satisfied and extremely full!
Recommend to anyone!

“Couldn't have got a warmer welcome!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

My Australian husband & I, along with his parents travelled from Dublin to Galyway, via Sligo to visit where their ancestors were from & planned to have lunch at the only restaurant, bar in Sligo with the same name as us!
Andy, the proprietor, could not have been welcoming & engaging.
We can't comment on the restaurant food as lunch is served after 3pm, however, the menu did look outstanding & Andy's welcome & interest in us fellow Donaghys made the long trip to Sligo more than worth it!

“Fantastic gastro-pub food with excellent service”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

We started at the pub associated with the restaurant next door to catch a futbol match on tv with a few pints and a quick bite. The server brought the menu from the pub and the restaurant next door and explained that we could order off of both as we saw fit. I'm not sure this is standard for them, but I was very pleased for the opportunity to sample from both. The starters were excellent and things continued wonderfully throughout the entire time we spent there. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting Sligo.

“lovely pub food”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

We had a very pleasant lunch here. Food was lovely, nice warm home made bread brought with the wine, very busy which is a good sign. The staff were very helpfull and friendly, they even booked a taxi for us. Would return next time.

“Much Improved”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

We have had the bar food a couple of times since my last review of this establishment. In fairness we got a beautiful meal both times.

The value available in this restaurant has much inproved in the past couple of years. For example we got a carrafe containing a 1/4 litre of wine which allowed the two of us to have 2 small glasses of red for 5 euro... and actually the wine was pretty good. This was a nice option becuase I was driving and wanted a little wine with my steak. Staff are friendly but you do have to stick up your hand an odd time!

Overall, very good. The Bar food is a good option and is high quality.
