Iorras Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #4 of 26 Sligo B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 9, 2010

The B&B is conveniently close to Sligo Town (a very short drive) and the B&B rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We were already very happy with our welcome from Ita, and our breakfast, and then she went out of her way to help us the next morning when we discovered we had a flat tire. She also provided a lot of information about local sights and shopping.

We were greeted with Irish tea and homemade scones, the breakfasts were delicious and our hosts went the extra mile, drove us into town to retrieve our rental car.

With five in our party, we occupied three rooms for two nights, to our complete satisfaction. The facilities are immaculate and also quite attractive, and we found the quiet location between Sligo town and Rosses Point to be ideal. One evening we found our vehicle locked overnight in a parking garage and caught a cab back to Iorras. The next morning Ita graciously informed us "It would be no bother at all" to give us a ride to town to retrieve the car. She and her husband made us all feel at home for our two night stay.

We didn't had a B&B prebooked and got this one recommened by locals. The rooms are very spacious and absolutely spotless. The breakfast menu is extensive and you can pretty much get what you like. Ita has a lot of tips what to do in the area. She gave us a tourist guide book we could take along for the two days of our stay. The B&B is located about 5 km outside Sligo town on the way to Rosses Point which has great beaches. Best to have a car to get a round, otherwise you rely on busses or taxi.

I could not find much info on Iorras B & B before I left, but it was recommended by a local, so we tried it out. The rooms were very nicely done and the bathrooms looked brand new. Ita, the proprietor, was the sweetest lady and did everything she could to make our trip the best. She fielded numerous phone calls that came in for us and always was right there with tea and biscuits. She cooked a made to order breakfast each morning and even adjusted her normal breakfast time to meet our days schedule. I would recommend this place highly and her location is great.
