“What a great place”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

Harry' Bar faces the sea at Rosses Point. It is brightly painted and stands out which is just as well as we were tight on time, Ireland vs Italy kick off 2.30 and we are still outside at 2.28. We made it just in time. This wouldn't be like being late for a train or a ferry, this was serious.
Anyway two pints of Guinness were ordered for myself and Barbara and I asked for the menu to be told that the kitchen would not open until after 4pm. My face dropped, how was I to play into the second half with nothing to munch on with that creamy pint? I considered peanuts but they were not for today.
Then the curate informed me that snacks on the house for everybody would be served before half time on the house, for free and for nothing. And so we welcomed half time with sufficient Guinness to wash down sausages, chips and toasties. What a feast. We had some stuff off the menu after the match and it was lovely as far as I remember but it was only a patch on gourmet sausage, chips, toasties and creamy pints.
With perfect timing and dovetailing I finished playing every throw of the game and every tackle at exactly the same time Barbara finished Saturday's Irish Times. Some afternoons are perfect.
