“Such a gorgeous and quiet beach to walk on <3”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

It's absouletely stunning, the views are brillant and there's nothing u need from it, its just better the way it is. I just wish it wasnt so bloody far away from Sligo as it takes an hour of a journey!

“Perfect beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

Dunmoran Strand is off the main Ballisodare to Ballina road. I was there mid-week and it had lots of car-parking spaces. There were very few people using the beach although the weather was fine. A few hardy souls were swimming but I chose to walk to the end where I see a new bridge has been installed. One can now walk all the way to the Beach Bar at Aughris Pier. I stayed in the nearby Woodfield Inn B+B which was excellent.

“A lovely beach with a great pub at the end!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Dunmorran strand is one of our local beaches and it's great for a stroll or a more strenuous walk on a blustery day. The sand is clean and the views across the bay to Ben Bulben or further across to the North are great if the weather is clear. The beach is usually quiet with only a few other walkers. Keep walking past the stream (use the bridge unless you want wet feet!) and along the next rocky bay and you'll find the Beach Bar pub, where you can enjoy a beer before walking back. That's it really, fresh air, sand, views, beer!

“Beautiful views in one of Ireland's most unspoiled areas”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

As Sligo beaches go, Dunmoran is fine, but not in the premier division. We are kinda spoiled for choice.
However, the views of Knocknarea, Ben Bulben and Ben Whisken across the bay are stunning and make this tranquil little corner of Ireland worth a visit. If you have a little time, the Beach Bar at the far end of the beach from the car park is definitely a place to rest up with a refreshment before heading back. If Carlsberg picked pub locations this would probably be it!

“Stunning location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Well worth a visit, even on a cloudy day. Have been here 3 yrs in a row for a wonderful charity fundraiser, and the sea is definitely exhilarating! If planning a day visit, bring picnic as this is an unspoiled and remote location, therefore stunning.
