“Convenient and courteous”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

While out on a long drive, I needed somewhere to eat, so when I spotted Henry's, I was lured in by an ad for an all-day breakfast but it turned out they did a range of meals. I opted for a meat-and-2-veg dinner from a menu with ample choices, and indulged in a dessert afterwards. The main course was plain, hearty Irish cooking and the dessert was lovely. I found the staff helpful and courteous.

“A real treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014 via mobile

My in-laws have been taking friends and family here for a while and I can definitely see why. We had dinner on a quiet Monday evening 09/06/14. Lovely spacious interior, Staff were friendly, cheerful and very helpful. We all had the stakes (sirloin & filet) cooked to our perfection to each individual preference. Home made chips were devine. Prices though not cheap/discount were in no means expensive for the quality of the food and overall experience.

“keep on driving”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2014

IIf you are thinking of stopping for a bite to eat give this place a miss keep on driving.
On a recent trip to Sligo to play in a bridge congress my group decided to leave our hotel for evening tea . We found Henry's as the Yeats Tavern seemed very busy. First impressions thumbs up, interior all good, menu looked fine if not a little pricey . It wasn't to busy and staff were very pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately food was terrible with the exception of the home made chips.

“Good, but was better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014

We use to call here in the morning and in the evening as it was a great stop, but recently the breakfast service has changed it is opening later but more seriously the quality of the a la carte has gone down considerably, on my last visit we ordered 2 fillet steaks on blue and the other medium rare both arrived grey in colour and tasteless the quality of the beef was good but the cooking was poor, the accompanying potato and sauce was poor, the problem encountered could be due to the football on the TV most of the staff was watching it.

“Great spot for Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2014

Stopped here today for Sunday lunch. Was met with very friendly staff who welcomed us and pointed out food choices. €18 for 2 courses and tea/coffee. Main course priced at €13.50 and can get half portions for children! Choice of 6/7 mains and desserts. Staff behind carvery counter couldn't be nicer, very good portion sizes, good quality beef! We had a lovely woman and guy serving tables, couldn't do enough for you! Went round offering more gravy etc! Guy definitely in the right job! Also child friendly! I would highly recommend it for lunch and will return! Unfortunately, and I left negative comment until last as not to spoil it but girl on till so unfriendly and totally lacking in people skills! Would pull her off till as she would ruin it for everyone else!! However I'll be back as rest of staff and food great! Well done! PS try the 'Oreo' chesecake- fab!
