I don't think I've ever seen such friendly staff in a pub, it seemed like they were all very happy to work in The Swagman. We had sandwiches for lunch along with a pint of Guinness each and both were really good. It was busy at lunchtime and we walked by on Saturday night and it was absolutely packed. If the sun is shining, they have a large outdoor area too.

Have to admit some reticence at trying an Irish burger but will say this is right up there with most burgers found in the states. Bar atmosphere but everyone was pleasant.

We have been here 4 times now and on average its very good, The food tastes lovely. Our 1st time the portions where small and only warm but the quality and taste of food was good.
2nd time was the best, the fish and chips where lovely and the peanut butter stack was to die for.
3rd time was the worst Saturday 31st may, the service took ages, they couldn't take the pesto out of the started i wanted, by the time desert came we where standing up to leave, it was the stack but was falling over like it had been heated but was stone cold.
4th time yesterday we just had lunch and it was spot on and everything was amazing. I think they just needed more staff on the bank hol weekend. Other wise the food quality and taste is great if your in town for lunch.

We arrived at lunchtime on Sunday. The bar was almost empty. We ordered soup and chowder. Both were very good but the only downside was the noise from the kitchen. The chefs were shouting loudly enough for all in the bar to hear. Our mains arrived and were good also. At 30 euro for 2 soups and 2 mains it was priced averagely for pub food.

Fantastic owner, great staff, best selection of beers in Sligo.
Great food ( including Kangaroo meat, very tasty) and live entertainment.
This bar is the real deal, don't hesitate to visit when in Sligo.
Thanks Dale.
