Tranquil, stunning, breathtaking. The lake is like a pane of glass and surrounded by mountains. Amazing. GO!

Went on a very rainy, cold day with a small tour group. Despite the rain, we loved it! Such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful place. In better weather, I would have loved to have stayed longer. I just love waterfalls!

Before going up to the Sligo area, I admired a painting in the Irish National Gallery in Dublin depicting the Waterfall. There were a few people, and a few sheep.
When we visited, in between downpours, there were only sheep, many many of them, and also very many very cute baby lambs (so much for lamb chops in the forseable future!).
Because of the huge amount of recent rainfall, the waterfall was absolutely roaring and very impressive.
The area surrounding the lake is quite wild and very beautiful . A must see

When you circle it, you can see all the waterfalls surrounding the lake. It's a beautiful drive around the lake.

The waterfall at Glencar is supposedly the main attraction, but being from Tennessee, the waterfall wasn't impressive at all. The Lake, however, is absolutely gorgeous. There are also lots of sheep grazing in a pasture nearby which make for some really pretty photos, if you're not tired of sheep by then.
