We fished locally and needed somewhere convenient with good food and good beer. Got both. Leisure facilities first class and staff brilliant, nothing too much trouble, even breakfast at 5.00am before we went fishing! Many thanks, we will be back!

nice room very clean, the food is good too but it wouldn't blow you away but I am not complaining it went down well, but the staff is the real selling point in this hotel you couldn't meet friendlier staff for the kids, if I am going back to Sligo I be coming back to this hotel 10 out of 10.

As part of our Ireland tour, we spend two nights here and we had a wonderful experience! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the dining room as well as the pub. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Would love to go back one day.

We stayed on a two day AXA leisure break on 16th July Receptionist obviously viewed our booking as 2nd Class or 'Cheap Deal' and treated us accordingly No information was offered on hotel services or local area and I was flabbergasted to be asked 'that will be €126' as if we were going to leave without paying Because we were exhausted from heat and three hour journey I didn't bother engaging and just handed over credit card and took key. Room 157 was a mess when I got there so went back to reception. No apology offered just 'you know checkin is not until 3pm' It was now 2.40. I explained we had a three year old who was exhausted and needed to sleep. Instead of offering a new room she told us room would be ready in 15 mins. Room was ready at 3.20 We were housed in the older part of the hotel, the furthest possible distance from reception/restaurant area and leisure centre. Not ideal as we had to carry buggy up and down a flight of stairs to get to room. Apart from this our stay was very pleasant with all staff being very helpful and attentive especially in leisure centre and at breakfast. Overall the hotel could probably do with a bit of a facelift as it is tired looking in places but pleasant staff more than make up for this (apart from our receptionist of course who we didn't see again). Check out was a much more positive experience with receptionist even getting us ice for our coolbox on journey home.
However in the hospitality industry especially during these difficult times, first impressions are crucial - whether guests are on 'deal' breaks or not.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review following your recent stay at Sligo Park Hotel and Leisure Club. I am very sorry that you felt less than welcome when you arrived. As you will have read from other reviews, Sligo Park staff welcome all our guests and the warmth of the staff is very often commented on. Therefore I am surprised and disappointed with your account and I want to apologise to you for this.
It is good to note a lot of positives to your stay also and thank you for highlighting these. We hope that you and your three year old will be back to Sligo Park for many enjoyable visits in the future. Please let me know if ever I can be of any help to you at any time,

Kind regards,

Bernadette Coffey

We stayed at Sligo Park Hotel over 12th July weekend and first impressions count. After we checked in the reception staff gave our 3 kids (7,4 & 2) the best welcome ever with a special bag & treats! Every member of staff spoke to the kids about their holiday, admiring their clothes or just a fabulous greeting. Restaurant staff for dinner & breakfast first class. Special mention to the female lifeguard who made our 2 year olds holiday. There is a big inflatable obstacle course at special times at the pool. The 2 girls loved it but I felt our 2 year old son was too small. He cried sore & the lifeguard went out of her way to explain that he would be perfectly safe & to let him have a go. Massive smiles all round! Excellent weekend & highly recommend this hotel.

I organised a family reunion at the Sligo Park which turned out to be a great success. The function room was perfect for our needs. We were able to use the hotel laptop & PA system for a slide & film show. The buffet was also first class.
Many of us stayed for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The rooms are quiet & spacious with everything you'd need and beautifully decorated. The breakfast & bar food were both of the highest order. I didn't get a chance to use the leisure facilities unfortunately but I did look in at the gym & pool area which seemed very good & well supervised. Finally I would like to commend all the staff for their friendliness, helpfulness & efficiency, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend the Sligo Park Hotel.

Stayed for three nights from July 2nd. The Hotel exterior is not 4* but should not deflect from the quality that awaits within. From start to finish all dealings with staff were a pleasure. The friendly and helpful reception located us in Room 109 which made sense for proximilty to everything for a young family.
So only a few steps to the Leisure centre which is of the standard you would expect and more but the staff again done beyond the norm. Not alone was the pool actually patrolled ,rather than someone sitting in glassbox, but the staff enaged with all and gave various toy inflatables to add to the Kids enjoyment and safety.
We ate in the Bar / Lounge twice which was fine and cosy for an evening Pint.
The Restaurant was very good, with excellent choice and prompt service.
Breakfast each morning had everything to offer and could not be faulted.
The Room was tastefully decorated and neutral so unlikely to offend..... and the curtains closed. Shower controls worked as intended. Room service daily was of the highest standard.

From a family perspective, a few little but thoughtful points worthy of mention. Each room has a DVD player and there's a free DVD library at Reception which was a godsend to help entertain the kids when it poured outside.
Also at Reception there's toys available for the kids to help pass the evening if needed. The foyer is large and children have room to mix without hindrance to others.
Kids Cot was supplied as requested and its the first occasion where a mattress was provided. We always bring one as most hotels don't think of this.
Kids were also given a funpack on arrival

Location wise the Hotel is over a mile from town centre, downhill along a busy route. Grounds are maintained and parking is free and close.
Stayed in the area previously in other good hotels but this is the best for a young family.
Entrance door can be pain when carrying luggage and signage generally could be improved. On that theme , in the Lift what is indicated as the 1st floor is actually below the ground floor and should be marked as such to avoid confusion.

Finally my wife got injured while on Strandhill beach and the Reception team again done everything to assist us with local medical care, hospital etc. As I see names mentioned in other reviews , thanks to Mary, Yvona, Maeve and well done to Eamon,Robert, Maj, Mirak and others whose names I canot recall.
We shall definitely return.
