We have stayed in Sligo on a number of occasions for a leisurely weekend but never at The Sligo Park Hotel. It was highly recommended to us by 3 work colleagues who had all stayed there recently so we were really looking forward to our stay and we were not disappointed. Although the hotel is on the outskirts of the town, this was not a problem as it is within reasonable walking distance.
There was a friendly welcoming atmosphere and all of the hotel staff were very pleasant and attentive from our arrival to departure, so much so that it would be unfair to single out anyone for particular praise – the standard of customer care in the hotel is very high. Apparently some of the other rooms have been refurbished and updated but although our room was not, nonetheless it was was spacious, comfortable and clean with all the facilities that we required. It faced the tennis court at the rear of the hotel and there wasn't a lot of noise from other guests, the bed was extremely comfortable ensuring a very peaceful night’s sleep.
Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with plenty of variety. I asked for porridge which wasn’t in the buffet area and this was supplied with no difficulty. We had an evening meal and this was delicious, with no menu restrictions despite being part of our package
Due to time constraints we didn’t use the leisure centre facilities on this occasion but hopefully we will next time as we look forward to staying here again the future and would recommend it to friends and family.

We stayed for 2 nights beginning of March for a family christening. I had emailed the hotel to ask for 2 rooms close together and they kept their word by giving us rooms a few doors away.

Rooms were lovely and very comfortable, huge bed, everything clean and tidy. Bathrooms the same.

We did use the leisure facilities and thought they were really nice. Very clean.

We ate in the bar one night and nothing was too much trouble for the waiters & bar staff. The food was good. The christening supper was at the hotel too and the food was excellent.

The only downside to our trip was an under 14's(approx) hockey tour at the hotel - whilst it was lovely to see the girls enjoying themselves, the hotel should have put the 40 odd kids in a separate wing as a courtesy to other guests - there was door slamming constantly and they were running up and down the corridor.

A really lovely hotel, hope to visit again in due course.

This was a trip planned for all my family to meet up and relax for a few days.

From my initial enquiry, to a few emails to organise rooms, to telephone calls to confirm and allocate rooms, from check in to check out, I have never been so professionally treated, with superb treatment by all the staff involved, especially Geraldine. The hotel is in a great location about 2 miles from Sligo on the dublin road. Very easy to find from any direction, really well sign posted and a large enough car park at the front. The rooms were large, spacious, and very well finished. A great touch was instead of a family room, we had interconnecting rooms to the kids so they felt they were adults with their own privacy.

We had bar food the first night, and ate in the restaurant the 2nd night. Both times we were not disappointed. The food was superb, and the service excellent, even though there were 12 of us!

The breakfast was more than adequate, with plenty of choice, although you had to ask for cold meats and cheese, and fish (kippers), if required.

The swimming pool and leisure facilities were also great, the gym being quite busy by public use, and all the kids had a ball (including us big kids).

The Sligo area is great for watching big surf waves on the coast, and some great scenery all around.

All in all, this was a great break, and the fact that it was also st Valentines weekend made the efforts of the staff more appreciated.

I couldn't praise this hotel highly enough, from start to finish. 5 star treatment the whole way. Thanks to all the staff at the Sligo Park Hotel.

First time to stay in this hotel and loved it. Four of us stayed 2 nights with an evening meal we all enjoyed our stay here. Food was excellent with great choice on the menu, everywhere bright and clean including the leisure center and staff most helpful and always with a smile. Waiting on the toaster for toast at breakfast seemed to cause a backlog at the b/fast buffet but a simple thing to put right ie. an extra toaster. All in all, a first class hotel offering great deals. Will certainly come again.

On a very positive side, the hotel was excellent.
The room was very impressive, foyer excellent and breakfast was very well organised.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

On a less positive note, i had issue with the Leisure centre changing rooms.
You may not feel you have full control of what goes on in changing rooms but I feel things could be organised better.

I changed in the male changing room with my 9 year old son on saturday afternoon, I noticed a sign on the wall asking people to be bashfull.
This sign was obvoiusly ignored and not policed.
There was contantly people shaving in front of the mirrors without any clothes on. As you are aware this is 2-3 feet from the showers (no doors), so when in the shower
the sight of 3 grown men naked shaving is all you can see. I feel it is totally unacceptable for anyone to have to walk past this to enter the shower area, let alone
children.
The manner in which people feel its acceptable to parade around naked in a family leisure centre changing room has put me completely off your leisure centre and as a result your hotel.
I have travel extensively throughout Ireland and the world and been in 100s of Hotels ... I have never come across anything like this before.
Simple policing of the changing room could eliminate this issue, signage over shaving mirror "Please cover up while shaving" and the introduction of family changing rooms would help.
My summary of the Sligo Park Hotel , A fine Hotel let down by leisure centre changing room.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your recent stay with us at the Sligo Park Hotel and Leisure Club on Trip Advisor.
We are delighted to see you found the hotel and its facilities to be excellent.
On another note, we see you had an issue with the changing rooms in the Leisure Centre which causes us great concern.
It is an issue that we are trying to deal with. Since receiving your email, we have put shower curtains in the showers in the mens changing rooms. We have also put up new signs throughout the changing rooms asking people to cover up and to ensure shower curtains are pulled whilst showering. We can only improve on our facilities when something like this is brought to our attention and we thank you for this.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your positive feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Sligo Park Hotel and Leisure Club in the near future.

Kind Regards
